heh...all the drama...lol...I think I will still like the car regardless...cuz I will most likely want to track the car...I doubt the 335i with the Procede chip will be that good in a race track environment. but man...I do like the 335i...but I don't like the two tiny lil exhausts in the back...

I think the numbers are very commendable for a car in this class. It's still faster than the Audi and the BMW! And no, you can't compare it to a modified (chipped) car, it's just not fair.

In the real world, if the ISF runs the 1/4 in, say, 12.7, and the IS350 runs it in 13.7, (which is about average) the difference is a full second!! Isn't that like 20 or more car lengths? That is huge! Much faster than the IS350. We're talking "Blow the doors off like it's standing still" faster!

I have no doubt the ISF will literally "smoke" the 335i.

Drive an IS350 and then drive an ISF. You'll get the wakeup call!

1 second is not 20 car lengths on a 1/4 mile track do some of you people even go to tracks and run your cars or even spectate?

The IS-F will beat a stock 335i yes but if the after market grows for the 335i like it did for the MKIV TT then single turbo 335i's will be "smoking" a lot of cars especially NA V8's.

There better be plenty of aftermarket companies that will hopefully develop some nice bolt ons for the ISF and maybe a chip ? ? Ohh please I hope someone finally gets a chip out to the lexus community

I beg to differ. At 114mph, 1 second equals about 20 car lengths, maybe more.

4 tips coming out of a single piece domestic-looking muffler on the new M3

Show me a vid on a 1/4 mile track where one car runs like a 12.5 and the other car like a 13.5 and let me see if the first car reached the line 20 car lengths ahead of the second car.

Okay, I did the math. You were right! It's not 20 car lengths, more like 11-12, which is still a huge amount IMO.
At 114mph your traveling at 168 feet per second. The IS is 15 feet and that equates to aprox. 11 car lengths.

1 second in the 1/4 mile is a pretty big difference

Ofcourse a turboed v6 will be able to smoke alot of v8 if bumped up in power... just look at the tt porsches... a better hp/ weight will usually give better drag times...unless its gearing is crappy...

I am very happy and its convincing me to become a buyer. To read the EXPERTS really like this car says TONS, especially since Lexus is fighting a HUGE uphill battle here.

IS-F vs 335i
IS-F 335i
0-60 4.7 4.9
1/4 mi 13.2 13.4
price 64000 50000

C&D isf numbers
IS-F vs 335i w/procede chip
IS-F 335i
0-60 4.2 4.4
1/4 mi 13.7 12.8
price 64000 51500
Those numbers for 335i are with the chip. And if you're comparing 335i to the IS-F then why not compare 335i to the new M3?

With that kind of logic, you might as well buy a suped up neon or an STI or maybe EVO... Heck, I can probably get a 1 sec flat on my 2 wheel bicycle given I put a Yamaha R1 engine on it...
