As for the LS exhaust, it's the same similar setup, bumper bezel/tips and a floating exhaust canister.

Exactly. Connected or not, at least the outlets are aligned properly with the tips.

They still aren't. The exhaust canister or the outlets itself have not changed.

In my opinion its just a cosmetic thing...

On the LS you can clearly look through the faux tips on the bumper and see the ground and etc... (could be better designed IMHO)

Now they have added these shields or funnels on the IS-F faux tips, more than likely due to the poor reviews it received initially.

It looks better and you can't see the ground anymore... but like Ryan said they are not connected.. its an illusion.

In fairness, the exhaust needs to be able to move around a bit,
and the bumper does not move. Also, as an engineer, you'd prefer
to isolate the heat of the exhaust tip from the urethane bumper.
Doesn't bother me...

At least functionally, the "auspuff" comes out the stacked tips,
and that's all that really matters.

wow the the shield/exhaust tip area of the IS-F looks so messy like someone made it in their garage vs the nicely fitted ones for LS.

Anyone will spark conversation on something so trivial. I guess that's what sets apart auto enthusiasts and us Lexus enthusiasts in general.
