its far cheaper to just put an engine cover on instead of spending resources designing how the hoses, wires, lines will run in such a way it looks nice. Sounds like a pain in the *** to route everything. On nice looking engines when a line/hose/wire breaks and its buried deep down somewhere because it was routed to make the engine look nice, theres always a trade off
reason it looks like that is for easier acceses. There is reason Toyota's are rated as easiest vehicles to work on, year after year.
that is pretty ugly - but hey I aint driving with my hood up...ya know
and no one is at that --maybe you cant pop it up at a show but hey forget that
with the power and quality this car will hopefully have with toyotas name behind it...I'll take that mess and be clear of the damn service dept -- rather than have a pretty poorly built P.O.S any day that has me yet again back at the dealer cause now some other ***** has gone wrong *cough* Infiniti G35 coupe *cough*
doesn't look bad to me... its functional... If you want an ugly engine bay, take a look under the hood of a WRX or STi... All function and zero form.. There isn't even an engine cover!
