I like the trim. I think it'll hide minor scratches better than the wood.

I agree, since it's a lighter finish. I still put protectant on my console just in case.

FYI, the trim is made up of the following layers:

1. Aluminum base
2. Fiberglass cloth (looks like cf but isn't really cf, i found this surprising)
3. Lacquer overlay
4. Hand rubbed finish (this surprised me also)
