Default Defending of the IS-F

I’ve been doing this internet car forums thing for quite a long time. I’m a long standing member of many different forums. I have noted over the years that specific brand owner who are obviously termed “fan boy’s” tend to attack new competition ruthlessly. I am finding that this is going on wide spread on the IS-F out there. I will start by saying that indeed, when a car like the IS-F is released to pretty good praise, these people whom are all over the industry from the top down always exist. It results in a poor review in a publication that usually shows its bias or just strait up crazy posts from arm chair engineers in forums. The IS-F is getting hit with a lot of these things. I usually respond to the worst of the worst, more out of fun. I guess the point I’m getting at is that the IS in general has taken a lot of heat and right now the IS-F is ew and being targeted. What you current owners should get out of it is this: when the heats on this hard, it just means that you got into a kick arss product and they are all stewing on it, hating it for how good it really is. My chances of an IS-F right now are slim for at least the next 6 months so enjoy what you got.

You should see some of the crud people are posting lol. But its ok, typically the people saying things are the ones who I have traditionally witnessed say such things about import in general over the years. Those are the people you can have fun with.

So if you see that next British mag with a not so glorious review, just remember, high chance they are biased and every fan boy out there will prop up that review to throw hate on your car.

Regardless of what any publication says or any "fan boy" ridicule, when I step on the accelerator I have a huge smile driving the IS-F. It was worth it

You have to expect bias to exist on the various boards...heck, it even exists here on CL to some degree. Although you can find some unbiased members on the other boards, they are usually outnumbered by the rabid fanboys who will crap on any car from a different manufacturer.

I'm also a member of various other boards (MBWorld, M5Board, Cadillacforums, Audizine) and love getting a laugh from some of the comments. As for the IS-F, it usually won't get respect from the German car fans since it's a Lexus (or a Toyota according to some of the posts ).

Who cares, it's a great car and a fantastic first effort by Lexus at producing a high performance car. And to be honest, it'd be kind of boring if no one had any negative comments. Some of the most entertaining threads are filled with "fanboy" comments.

Can't wait to see some full blown comparison tests between the IS-F, M3, C63 and the RS4.

lol, just take them all with a grain of salt and you are good. really, if you know what you are talking about and being unbiased, smart people will read that. all cars have their good or bad, whoever just being a fanboy on something, they are jokes to me anyway

like the is-f, i think it's cool and props to lexus, but there are shortcomings and between the 4 cars (is-f, c63, m3, and rs4), honestly is-f probably won't be my first choice anyway, depending on what i want/need

and for the owners, you just need to know how to enjoy your car

Each to their own - there are no loser's in this luxury performance category.

I know I made the right choice and that what counts. I find it hard for anyone to leave negative feedback if you never own the car in the first place - test driving doesn't count.

I especially love the guys that drive (for example) an Audi A4 1.8t
and have the stones to trash the IS-F. An A4 has, what, 200 hp?

Go get an RS4, junior: then we can talk.

Exactly.

Who cares what the other people say about the IS-F. We like it...and it's all that matters.

I think it would be cool if Best Motoring did a track battle with the amg, m3, and IsF

motor trend did one...2.7 mile road course

M3: 2 min, 34.2 sec
ISF: 2 min, 38.6 sec
C63 AMG: 2 min, 39 sec

the ISF did well...but I guess there are no excuses now that there is no price differential

feature/option out a M3 or C63 to match the options of a 62k IS-F, there will be a price differential
