Those fake pipes are there and act a rear diffusers which actually create downforce at speeds over 120mph.
The under body diffusers are for down force, but I think you are talking about the exhaust outlet. The do not create any down for but defuse the turbulence created by mass amount of air moved by the engine at high speed.
I do have one question though.....are the resonators electronic and only open up at highr RPM's? The Corvette ZO6 is like that, and I am curious to know if this exhaust is simlilar??
Different design. The Z06 uses vacuum system operated by the electronic switch. The muffler itself has dual path. One for low speed and a 2 1/2 inch outlet for higher speed.
IS-F has a traditional exhaust system. IMO, IS-F exhaust is simpler and better. At least to better to modify.
I spoke to the sales manager where I purchased my car he mentioned somthing about lexus coming out with a sport line for the IS-F down the road not sure when perhaps sometime this summer. I guess we have to wait and see....
The Sport Line will only support the IS 250/350. They will not have anything for the IS-F at the time of launch. Hopefully they will come out with something in the near future, but I was told there was nothing on the drawing board yet.
has anyone modified the stacked exhaust tip thing yet? ie. removed it and put in true duals or something more authentic?
I don't think anybody has due to Lexus or some people saying that those stacked exhaust serve a function to keep the car grounded when going above 125mph...if you put a regular exhaust...it would have problems at high speed...
