BRING IT

I've got DR's out back right now so traction is no issue

I still havn't gotten to drive an F yet, we've got several but they keep taking the keys away from me before I can take it out and run it

BTW, did you launch in sport mode or no-traction control mode? I would think that the taut suspension and 54/46 F/R ratio would make it hard to launch.

There were 7 total is-f runs. First four were me against Peter's modded 335i:

Run 1) Left car in auto w/ regular trac off and sport mode on.. gunned it on 3rd yellow and then towards the end (i thought) of the track i tapped the brakes prematurely cause I didn't realize the sign post wasn't the 1/4 mi marker.. it was a 1/8 mi marker (unlike baytown). First bad run.. only did a 13.30 @ 92mph. Peter's 335i did 13.02 @ 106mph.

Run 2) Left car in auto again w/ reg trac off and sport mode on.. gunned on 3rd yellow and did a 13.09 @ 110mph. Peter's 335i did 13.01 @ 106mph. This was my only semi-decent run in auto.

Run 3) Put car in manual mode, did reg trac off and sport mode on. Light turned green, I gunned it and forgot to manually shift. Bad run. I did a 14.54 @ 107mph. Peter's 335i did 13.07 @ 105 mph.

Run 4) Put car in manual mode, did reg trac off and sport mode on. Light turned green, gunned it and shifted from 1st to 2nd.. wheels broke loose and never caught traction. Bad run. I creeped down the runway and got a 22.40 @ 58mph, lol. Peter's 335i did 13.19 @ 105mph.

Run 5) I handed the car over to SRT Mo. He made his first pass ever in an is-f and managed a 13.07 @ 111mph using manual mode, reg trac off, sport mode on. The competitor was a different car and it did a 11.96 @ 119mph.

Run 6) SRT Mo behind the wheel again, does same thing and managed a 12.92 @ 111mph. This one had a different competitor which ran a 13.68 @ 70mph.

Run 7) SRT Mo makes his final pass, does a 12.89 @ 111mph. I believe the competitor here was a bpu mk4 supra and that ran a 13.31 @ 118mph.

On a side note, the 12.84 that Peter's 335i got was done earlier in the day when the track was first prepped. I admit I still need some getting use to w/ the ride and probably will take it to Baytown's track next time around. I'm down for some additional fun runs if you are Peter.. let's do it before you trade the bimmer in!!

Great analysis, one SMALL correction. My 12.84 was NOT done when the track was in better shape, actually, it was in WORSE shape. My run was done early when it was still cold and traction was a little hard to find (although for my car, which does not make that much power, it hooked just fine). The biggest benefit to running during the morning was track TEMP which was in the low 80's. By the time we started to run the track temp at the starting line was above 100 degrees, my car was heat soaked to all hell by then. As for more runs, i'm ALWAYS game bud!

I should have made the drag event.

I did the road race event but did not see Peters 335i nor any is-f's there.

I didn't bring the 335i or the Supra to TWS, I drove in a buddy's white Pontiac G6 rental car. Were you in the Lexus IS350 road racing???

not sure what a good time around that track is , but my buddy in his white wrx and I were switching positions back and forth and he said we were running around 2min 11 sec laps?

I tried to find you to say hello and thanks for doing the event, but was having so much fun on the track.

sorry to the OP for getting off topic.

think about it then...install some headers, exhaust, and intake on a IS-F and they can beat whatever numbers the IS350 can do...haha

Found something interesting, now let's take a look at the results from an average consistency standpoint of the top three runs from each vehicle that day:

IS-F Stock (1 Week Old)

1) 12.8923 @ 111.66 mph
2) 12.9296 @ 111.14 mph
3) 13.0708 @ 111.44 mph
---------------------
AVG 12.96 @ 111 mph

*********************

335i Chipped (6 Months Old?)

1) 12.8453 @ 108.23 mph
2) 13.0153 @ 106.56 mph
3) 13.0201 @ 106.64 mph
---------------------
AVG 12.96 @ 107 mph

It looks like they're practically dead even!! =|

I don't think they're dead even. I think the IS-F is faster. He just launched better.

They are not dead even. The IS-F is faster from a roll (as can be seen by the trap speed at the track) and I out drove the IS-F at the track with better 60 ft. times (as can be seen by the 60' and the et).
