Advanced
I think so far this is one of the best articles on this group of cars. Unlike others, they did not find stupid ways to give the M3 the win (IE: Rebates and Incentives **caugh, Car & Driver caugh**). I really like how they pointed out pros and cons on each car.

Wow, so he's drawn to the Lexus the most and a winner is not declared, now there is no "best".
I can live with that and one of the reasons I purchase this mag, HONEST AND TRUE REVIEWS. Not the monkey crap we get here outside of Sports Car International.
Its beyond me how the best mags are Euro mags and the best cars (IMO) are imports.

I like it a lot because of the realistic view on what are the pros and cons of each of these cars.

Competitive comparisons
I currently have an 07 IS350. I have long been a performance car/sedan enthusiast and a subscriber to various car mags (since 1966). Consequently I have read just about every opinion, test and anecdotal publication about relative performance between like cars.
What has never ceased to amaze me is the heated discourse about minimal variations in performance that would not be discernable in 99.9% of everyday driving and the positions/decisions made because of these minute differences which are only meaningful on a race track. Technical specs/preferences that support great track performance, which tend to translate to unsatisfactory day-to-day transportation needs, seem to unreasonably sway assessments of "which is better".
If the objective is competitive activeties, these comparisons are meaningful. If not, there are other real life features that make a performance car desirable and preferable to others.
