Default IS-F and M3 Videos and Pics as requested

I posted a thread about two weeks ago in regards to my IS-F and my friend's M3 coupe. Feel free to merge these threads if you feel it is necessary.

Here's some videos and some pictures for you guys from our recent get together. The vids were taken with a digital camera so I apologize in advance for the somewhat crappy picture and cinematography, and wind noise of course.

Here's a video of us from a dig up to about 140 mph. Neck and neck as I had explained before as long as the M3 gets a good launch.

Here's two more vids with us from a dig:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=absY1Ut1uGA

Here's just a vid of some cruising, nothing too exciting unless you like to look at the M3 in drive:

I won't say anything bad about the M3. Absolutely amazing car inside and out. But so close like I said before, unless I get into my rev band first then it is easy to jump a car or 2 on the M3 as you can see in some of the vids.

Hope you like the vids and the pics. We are both taking our cars down to the O'Reilly's Raceway down near Indianapolis this Tuesday for street legals. Hopefully I can get some vids there too. Enjoy guys and let me know what you think. Take care

Nice vids, thanks. I'm surprised the IS-F does so well tbh, given the weight difference. I originally (i.e., before the cars were released) thought the IS-F might pull the M3 only because the M3 weight at that time had been rumored to be around the same.

I am very interested to find out the weight difference between the M3 coupe and sedan. If it is a lot the IS-F will walk it easily. The other day we went driving and he brought 2 or 3 friends in his car vs just a driver in my car. I walked him from digs, obviously, but from a roll as well I just walked all over him easily.

Gets me to thinking that if the M3 sedan weighs significantly more, the IS-F should take it no prob.

For those vids it was him riding solo and i had myself and a cameraman. So we were pulling about 260 lbs of extra weight as well (friend=160, plus 100 extra lbs from car).

I was under the impression that the M3 weighs around 150lbs less. There's no way the M3 actually weighs more.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say, I think. That the M3 weighs about 100-150 lbs less than the IS-F.

Gotta love that extra torque over the M3. Not only did you have a camera man, but you also had your windows cracked and at higher speeds should cause some turbulence that would slow you down a bit.

M3 v ISF is well documented (and M3 is as quick or quicker than an ISF from a standing start) if the M3 is being beaten that bad it's either broke or the driver can't drive.

Oh really? Both cars are evenly matched, the M3 can lose, it won't win every race vs an IS-F.

It's documented - yes, but keep in mind that is under optimum launch conditions for the M3 vs. optimum for the IS-F. What's not told is how difficult it is to do a optimum launch with a 6 spd manual on the street vs. the IS-F. 90% of the time, from a dig, I believe the IS-F will win in street settings.

thats true. m3 needs a good launch which can be tricky. I keep forgetting the magazine times are best time so they throw out the bad ones. Also the ISF has a much better 'street start' which C&D does 5-60 mph from a roll it's about 1 second quicker than the M3.

I believe both cars have Michelin PS2's stock as well.
