You could strip down all the gunmetal paint to the bare metal, then have a shop machine polish all the raw aluminum. But by that point, you've killed the warranty for the factory wheels. Not a good idea.

yea I agree, do not do it, the wheels looks sick in gunmetal color. You should just get another set of wheels in the color that you like.....

I wonder if they have them now if it will be an option in 2009. I dont understand why they did not make the gunmetal and the polished ones available to the US. I think that this would help reduce prodcut cost some what.

$7,600 and change for this is just insane. You might be better off ordering from over seas and having them shipped to the US. I think that they are the better looking of the 2 choices. I hope that it is an option in '09 when I go to buy an ISF

At the powdercoating place I use, they have a new color that looks quite similar to a polished look. Might e an idea, and or about $75-$80/wheel it seems like a better alternative.

If I were to get an IS-F in 2009 I would still ask for the gunmetal color because that wheels give a unique look for the car.

At first I didn't like the gunmetal usdm wheels. Then after realizing how much brake dust is produced, I'm glad I have these wheels. Think of it this way, only the US market gets the gunmetal. I believe the rest of the world gets the two-tone. So our wheels are probably rarer.
