so how much of a difference does the lens make? and how many different lenses do you own? :\.. if you don't mind me asking.. just wondering, cause i wanna take up photography as a hobby..

Thanks I appreciate the compliments farquad. But on this one I kind of agree with Flipside on this one. Pictures should be well balanced and I feel the last 2 I posted have a bit of harshness to it. I think those lights in the background really interfered with my image. Security didn't want me taking photos at the time so I only had those 2. But again thanks for the compliments!

Lenses make a huge difference depending on what your application is. If I want to shoot things closeup, I may use a macro lens where it has the ability to focus on something at close range. For shooting indoors you may want a lens with a larger aperture to let more light in. But great thing about a DSLR is that you can change you lens from one to another and slowly upgrade.

I have to get used to the new controls on the D300. D80 still up for sale!! Of course I had to test the unit out on my car
