Thanks I'll have the post up in a bit. I'm working on the video(s) now, but if you are interested I have updated my drag strip journal in my signature with some details of the run.

Interesting that when you compare your run to 2JZ a few things strike me (probably b/c of my lack of understanding):

Your 60' was slower yet you got to the 1/8th quicker, with a slower trap speed

It seems that the "pull" continued through the 2nd 1/8th mile as his mph grew over the second part of the track yet you maintained ET on him.

How does that happen? I've heard MANY MANY ppl say MIR is "optimistic", do you think that is true???

Thanks!
Peter

Too many variables, but I know MIR is a very respected track esp with the 80'ft elevation and track maintenance.

Nice run, James! I'm looking forward to when you hit sub-12.5.

Congrats again James! I am still a little pissed that the only run out of 13 where you happen to get your record, I red light. ugh....

We will need to rectify this when it gets cooler.

I say you guys quit messing around with those OEM split spoke 18s and those OEM 19s that look exactly like radiator fans and put on some realy good looking 18s and call it a day.

Specs on that wheel.

I had Rays RE030's 18" gunmetal for a while now - too bad I got gunmetal - the gunmetal finish isn't so pretty and mine looked ghetto w/o the centercaps so I only use them for tracking and drag strip use.

Default Mickey Thompson ET Streets 245/40/18

Got some MT ET Streets in proper size that should provide consistent 60' times. They are almost identical in height to the OEM tires 255/35/19 so the gearing shouldn't be affected in any negative way.

They look sooo smooth. Almost bald. Looks like the MTs don't have the rim protectors (the extra rubber padding on the edge to protect the rim). How are they hooking up for you?

I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, but they seem to be the tire to get for drag racing. I'm going to be in the World Cup Finals (Imports vs Domestics) this Sunday running in the All-Motor class and should make the quick 16 drop and I'll just cross my fingers from there. If I do get eliminated I will be put in the ET class where consistency wins and if I can get consistent hook up at the line and leave the car in auto shift the chances of winning will be higher. $600 PAY-OUT

I've been driving around in mine for a couple of days and it's quite strange... It seems to have a softer ride (probably due to soft sidewalls and the fact I'm only running 32 PSI) but I can't seem to spin in 1st gear anymore. I turn off the air, turn off track, sport mode, 1st gear and HIT the gas and it just goes. No more spin spin spin and smoke. I'm wondering if I even need to do a burn out at the track! I think my first run I won't even do a burnout.
