First, thanks to all for your posts. Your comments really helped us with our purchase. We bought our first Lexus, Blk on Blk IS F with ML, on Thursday and we are still waiting for delivery! The dealer promised it on Friday, then Sat, then Sun. and now it's Tuesday. Initially we were told it was off-site on a storage lot but come to find out its displayed in a local mall and the mall manager won't release it! We can't bear to go look and see all those paw prints on it. We are dying-especially since it was the long holiday weekend! I'd like to ask the dealer to comp us a bit for the painful wait--any suggestions or is this just normal dealer drama so we should shut up and wait?

Wow that sounds like a bunch of BS. I would take my business elsewhere. Check your PM.

Welcome to the club! That's really unfortunate about the dealership making you wait and wait even after you have purchased the F! It's also unfortunate it is in the mall, did you get a good deal on it?! It is an awesome car, let us know how it goes, when you get it, impressions, etc. etc.

You should never buy a car unless it's there in front of you, so you can check it out, check the VIN, etc.

Now, if you actually bought it, just go to the mall and pick it up. It's yours, nobody can legally prevent you from doing that, not some mall manager that you have no binding contract with. And since the car does not belong to the dealership anymore, any contract the dealership might have had with this car and the mall is void.

When you are promised delivery on a given day, it should come that day, perhaps the following day, but that's it. You are the customer so you are king. Another option is for you to go back to the dealership and ask for you money back. They will try very hard to get around it but I think you have some legal delay after you buy a car to change your mind. Don't accept to be treated this way. Good luck.

My first job was in a mall, and we would have all the local dealers show their cars about once a month. I'd say about 80% of those cars left with least some sort of dent/scratch/food stains (although they lock the car these days now) on the car. Once there was a special Camaro SS, and someone took out the red/white Camaro emblem along with the anniversary emblem as well. The nicer the car, the more abuse they got...so I would NOT buy that ISF.

Yea. personally I would not buy that car either because it was in a mall. And dealer is trying to BS his way around it. Just go ask your money back or have them give you a huge discount. Good luck
