Exclamation BMW E46 SMG vs ISF peddle shift

my cousin is in the market of getting either an 06 BMW M3 SMG (competition pacage) or a brand new IS-F

i let him drive my F, and he likes it. But he likes to know from this forum if any of you out there can take the time and do a quick comparison of these two cars given their specs. which one is better for an all around daily driver. the pros and cons..etc

thank you so very much

That's the same as comparing apples vs an oranges a used E46 M3 SMG goes for low $30K, brand new ISF goes for about $60K. If money is not a concern, i would get the ISF. Otherwise, I would get the E46 M3

LOL! Seriously. Even my big boat GS350 can walk it.

Yeah I've seen some video comparisons of the E46 M3 being compared to the 335i and the new 135i and it is the slowest of the bunch but still ties for first. 0-60 in like 5.2 seconds. I still love the styling but not a "fast" car by todays standards. Considering the 335 is as fast if not faster. Still a great car though if you ask me.

Maybe I just didn't think IS350's were that fast. Interesting

Huh? I have an E46, and used to have a GS430. The GS was a great car, but it is no M3. I've driven the IS350 many times, and again.... you can't compare the two. The IS350 is a terrific car, but the handling isn't in the same league as the E46.

That being said... I'm very seriously considering the IS-F as my next car. It seems like the one that I've been waiting for from Lexus. The E46 is a great car, and your cousin would not be disappointed. However, the interior is spartan, the styling is starting to get tired, and the reliability is not on par with Lexus standards. It really is a totally subjective thing.

135i > 335i, in terms of power to weight.

I have seen stock 135i, on the track, and it was smokin fast
