Default Excessive dirt/brake dust/road grime on rear bumper?

Are you guys getting excessive dirt, brake dust, road grime, or tire rubber on your rear bumper after a drive? Even right after I wash the car, a drive will get the rear bumper layered in some gunk that takes away the smooth paint feeling, while the rest of the car is fine in comparison. The entire bumper is covered in this stuff along with the back side of the trunk too. Maybe I'm more **** with this car, but I don't recall having this problem on any other car I've owned. Dirt accumulation on other cars have been pretty evenly distributed over the whole car.

It's funny you bring this up, I have noticed it as well. For some reason it seems like the whole car isn't dirty but when you get around to the rear bumper there is a bunch of dirt, dust and grime. I have no idea why but I notice the same thing, I just take a microfiber and wipe it off

Do you think that it is the tire dressing that you may have applied to the tires while washing your car?

Its not tire dressing spray, at least in my case. If I do have it, I can see where it stops and its usually along the side of the car, never in the middle of the bumper. Its just an excessive amount dirt on the rear of the car

Hmmm are there any freshly paved roads that you and the OP encounter on a regular? Tar may be your issue.

Nope. I drive all over the state and it always happens no matter where I am. it doesn't really look like tar either. I'll try and remember to take a picture of a finger mark through it so you can see what we mean

I believe it's due to the aerodynamics on the bottom of the rear bumper. It's bringing road tar or brake dust back up onto the bumper. It's not just simple dust that the California Duster can easily take off. There's still a fine coarse layer that's stuck on after dusting. Oh well...

I haven't noticed any asymmetric dirt/grime build-up.
