Went back again. This time I only got 3 runs in. I also put my 18" rims and RE050. Took the spare and jack out too.

60' 2.276 1.988 1.990
1/8 8.673 8.298 8.301
1/8 87.87 89.58 89.56
1/4 13.103 12.746 12.746
trap 112.59 112.03 112.13

What I don't get is why is my first run so more more powerful? Look at the acceleration in the last 1/8 mile in the first run. I went from 87.87 to 112.59 while the other runs were 89.5x to 112.1 Could it be heatsoak? I'm thinking that if I were able to hook up on my FIRST run, it could've been a 12.6xx There was NO wind at all tonight. It was actually kind of chilly today. 54 degrees, 46 was the dewpoint and pressure 30.2 inches Hg.

I'm starting to think that our cars run best when the engine is HOT (HOT oil) but while our intake manifold is cold. I don't think it likes to sit around for long periods of time with the heat rising up to the intake manifold. I'm starting to think it's pulling the timing a little or something.

1. What size are the 18" tires?
2. Great trap speeds!
3. With those 60 ft's and mph's the only thing that I can see as being the culprit for the E.T. is possibly your shifting. Did you red line or shift too soon on the runs?

The 18's are 255 40 so the outer diameter is 26" (same as stock). I'm pretty sure I redline shift - but sometimes it's a little tricky because the shifts happen so quickly and I might get the rev limiter once in a while. But I always shift AFTER the beep. LOL In the beginning, on occasion, I'd get antsy and shift before redline.

I'm going to give it a try again this evening. Going to go back to the track where I ran the 12.84 in the IS350 since they are calling for winds from the N and the track faces S. The DA should be about the same as when I ran my 12.5 at MIR with headwinds so we'll see.

That is the bummer about an Auto transmission. I would like to see this event. Has someone tried doing some bigger engine mods? Stroker engine or Supercharger?

What's a bummer about this Auto transmission? I think it's pretty damn sweet and possibly the best in the business. There are little to no mods available for the IS-F yet, so a stroker engine hasn't been done. Greddy has a concept supercharger for the IS-F and another company that I can't think of the name right now has a concept twin turbo setup. Honestly I don't know where they will go with this being engine management is difficult.

This transmission is really excellent.....It shifts very quick and don't think that anyone with manual transmission can shift that quick

Default 12.4 is darn near impossible stock!

So I went to the track again tonight and that 12.4 is being very elusive. I was able to run 6 runs this evening with a best of 12.506@115.29mph. So close!!! The track was hit or miss with the grip as lots of cleanups had to be done (as you will seen in the below video) and I'm fairly confident that going during the day (early morning) is best to allow the sun to help heat up the track while the cool air is still in place. All runs were done in manual mode, 34psi in the rear tires, spare removed and top engine cover also removed. Check in my signature dragstrip journal for details, but we had a slight tailwind which played in my favor.

Here is one of my runs and if you pay attention you can hear the car begging for grip through 1st gear then chirping 2nd and 3rd. This was my 12.88 run which was a solo pass. Cool part about this video is that I can actually hear the car go by. Needs a good exhaust!

Also I do not have a vid of the best run of the evening. My wife was in the bleachers kinda far from the staging lanes and with it being night and all she was too late at getting the video cam out. I do have other vids from the night which I may post sometime this weekend, but not sure how well they will come out. The lighting there was whack.

Runs:

___60ft____1/8th_________ 1/4
1. 2.096, 8.405@88.26, 12.787@114.16
2. 2.202, 8.511@88.42, 12.885@114.31
3. 1.964, 8.171@89.51, 12.506@115.29
4. 2.072, 8.252@90.10, 12.560@115.84
5. 2.054, 8.380@87.93, 12.776@113.72
6. 2.043, 8.294@88.90, 12.654@114.64

Ran the car bone stock. The IS350 rear wheels with the 245/35/18 R comps didn't work well with the gearing for the IS-F in the 1/4mi so I sold them to an IS350 buddy.

HOLY SMOKES! Looks at those trap speeds!!! A little better launch on #4 run and you'd be at 116!!!

Congrats on the awesome times and runs. Oddly, the DA is higher than the last time you ran but you ran faster. I guess some tracks are just a tick faster than others huh?

I still think 12.4's and sub 12.4's are possible STOCK under the right circumstances this fall/early winter. So far, you've come the closest! I think it's time for me to go on a diet!!! I'm getting closer and closer to 200 pounds.

I'm still going to wait for a bright cold sunny Sunday morning just like I did last fall with the IS350.

Yeah the DA was a bit higher, but this time around I had a slight tailwind which seems to have helped considerably with the trap speeds. Just wish the track hadn't had so many cleanups which caused it to be slippery most of the evening. Also posted a small vid clip in my previous post for fun if anyone wants to check it out. I like it because I can actually hear the car. This thing is too quiet!
