Okay guys, I just came back from Great Lakes Dragaway today. Temp started at 50 degrees and fell down to 46 degrees on my last run. Here are the two BEST runs (out of like 15!!!)

60' 1.904 1.911
1/8 8.136 8.104
1/8 88.95 89.04
1/4 12.495 12.466
trap 114.66 113.79

I took the spare, jack, engine cover out. I also left the manual and trunk rug at home. I'm guessing weight savings there is about 50 pounds. I also still have the 18" Volk rims which save about 40 pounds. Rears are RE050 (not the A or pole position) 255 40 18s at standard PSI (I'm guessing 36 psi). Front tires are Dunlop Sportmaxx 225 40 18s from my IS350 which are smaller in diameter (by 1 inch) - I only have them because they fit my 18" rims. My gas tank was practically empty - it said "1 mile" to empty.

Weather conditions were -1300 DA and NO tailwind. Actually, slight headwind to crosswind.

When I get time, I'll scan them or something. Somebody recorded my 12.495 on video and he said he'll post it on youtube or something so I can link it.

Great runs Toothdoc! Those 60' times are sweet and how the heck did you manage 15 runs!? I've always been amazed at how well people hook up at that track. Seems like a 1/10th saved in the 60' can almost knock 2/10ths off the final ET.

Can you post your time slip later? I did some preliminary DA checking and it doesn't look anywhere close to -1300, but more along the lines of -640. I need the actual time of the best run for accuracy. I used 626ft elevation, 45F, 30.42 barometric pressure and 34F dew point.

BTW...you know with running the 18" wheels you can't consider your car stock.

There's a secret to getting the 1.90 1.91 60'. I normally just burn out my tires to 35 mph (redline it in first gear) but this time, during my burnouts, I went to redline in SECOND gear (over 60 mph). That created a LOT more heat and traction. As I was pulling up to the line, I could hear the rear tires "sticking" to the surface.

And yes, you're right - I'm no longer stock. I just want to see how low I could go.

In addition, another little secret... my fastest trap of 114.x with no tailwind occurred when I actually hit the rev limiter THREE times during that run! Each shift, I heard it bump against the rev limiter.

My FINAL run was the quickest ET, but at that point, some spectators were commenting on how my diff is messed up. They said that they only notice one side burning out. Probably due to our open diff... BUT, I didn't want to be towed home so I called it a day. I think if I kept on running, (it was getting colder and colder) I might've reached 12.3s

That's a link to some of the slower runs - the last one in that vid was a 12.6. The car that I ran against 2x was an E55 AMG.

I didn't bring a camera with me, but another guy got my 12.495 - he said he'll post it let me know. We'll see.

Rear wheel and gap - it's the same gap. 255 40 18s.

Sorry that I'm posting 1 picture at a time - somebody can PM me on how to post several on one, I'm all "ears".

Here's the front - the front is from my IS350. 225 40 18. The gap is 1/2 inch bigger all around because outer diameter is a full 1 inch smaller. My winter will be 225 45 18 as a result.

My phone cam isn't giving me good enough quality to be legible. I'll take a better photo and post it. However, the 12.495 was at 5:47 pm and the 12.466 was at 6:13 pm.

Oh, one more "secret". The first dozen or so runs, I was short-shifting. Don't shift into the next gear as soon as you hear the "beep". You actually need to pause just a split second before you shift. During the fastest runs, I routinely hit 7,000 RPM according to my tach.

Default 12.44@116.42 10/22/08

Thinking the track would be somewhat quiet tonight my buddy in his IS-F went along with me only to find the track was quite crowded and once again had very poor track conditions. My best 60' tonight was a crappy 2.001 and that was with a half/feathered throttle and my worst for the evening was like a 2.3. The track seriously needs to do a better job at prepping because everyone was just losing grip. There was even an accident that caused the place to shut down for about an hour after a car spun off the track into the wall.

My Car stats: My trap speeds were mostly all 114mph with one at 116mph.
Bone stock
1/4 to 1/2 tank of fuel
Paddle shift with ECT PWR on
32psi in rear tires
removed spare and engine covers

My buddies car stats: His trap speeds fell between 110-112mph
Intake (won't mention name)
less than 1/4 tank of fuel
Paddle shift with ECT PWR on
33psi in rear tires
removed spare (actually lost his spare )

Density Altitude was -1043
Wind: Semi-Tailwind of 10.4mph

Doh!!!! I had the "Title" for ONE whole day. You're getting crazy traps man. 116!!!! (no offense... but the dude with 117 isn't sounding so impossible now). If cecilcounty could just give you better track prep, you'd be way down to 12.2s tonight!!

So, you're pulling 12.4s essentially stock (with good DA and tailwind) but crappy launch. If you could get that launch to 1.7 or 1.8, you might even hit 11.9s!!! Hey, couldn't drag radials get you down to 1.8s or even 1.7s? That just might be the ticket into the high 11s!!!

Congrats on the time James!

BTW, I'm starting to think you got a factory monster (compared to your buddy) OR, since you got a demo one with more miles, maybe your's is more broken in and faster! Something for me to look forward to next year!

Thanks ToothDoc! I'm not sure how to explain it, but the car must have been "properly" broken in for the first 9500 miles. I'm up to 12,500 miles right now.
