driving back from work i noticed the song which i was playing just shut off , i though i am getting a call anyways, look at the screen it was blank a minute later it came back up, everything was ok ..that is what i thought..i was wrong ..my buttons for the climate and map and etc were not illuminated anymore. after a while i got a weird screen telling my KW consumption?? OKay i was wondering maybe my car is a hybrid and i didnt know about it . then i saw my climate controls on the screen weird...i have some pics attached ..anyways started my car in the morning and everything is blank no backup camera no nav no climate controls work nothing. car works fine...guess have to drop it the service , not looking forward to it. I have 2500 miles car is 2 months old...

Wow, the screen just shut down after freaking out? Could be a short in one of the fuses or wires. Let us know what they say happened, this is pretty interesting

I had a weird situation with my radio a couple of weeks ago, while driving the volume and disc buttons stopped working. I couldn't raise or lower the volume from the radio nor from the steering wheel. The disc/changer buttton didn't work either, everything else was fine. I could move through sources using the steering wheel button though. After I turned the car off and on everything went back to normal, and never happened again. I thought it could be a short, but why all other buttons where working?

Do we share anything with the LS460h? It looks like somehow your display got mixed with the hybrid platform's ROM, hence you can see the KW consuption. The A/C display looks good, more options are always welcomed!

^Thats what I was going to say, looks like something got mixed up somewhere to be showing that....thats not what my A/C display looks like in the F either though....maybe all the extra buttons you can add to show up on the A/C display....

my wife just told me that she was driving last week she was mad because she thought i had turn the navigation off.. she said it was working when she came back and started the car again. i am pretty sure it a short somewhere maybe a fuse? and hopefully they fix it. i hate to give it to the dealer because they are gonna take the whole dash apart and hopefully i don't get any rattles

I work in the Electronics embedded world, I would assume that ALL the Gen5 navigation system share the exact same internals, hardware and software too, then depending on the services offered by the car the system behave in a different way (if an hybrid system is present then you will have access to the hybrid screen, if you plug in the iPod cable, you got iPod support, etc...). The reason being cost saving and ease of maintenance and reducing SKU inventory.
UZ214 and Juanca, the issue you are experiencing may not just be only software, maybe a bad electrical contact or a harness not properly plugged somewhere that triggered the issue.
If it happen again I would definitely recommend bringing the car to a dealer, if only to document the issue.

I wouldnt' worry about rattles, the NAV is only held in by 4 bolts and slides right out. Shouldn't take them long to replace if necessary.

update: talked to the service manager they said the unit(screen) is defective they just ordered and told me to hold on to my loaner for couple of days
