How can you tell if your pads are nearing its end, what should I look for?
I want to make sure I still have pads before doing "bed-in". Drove my car today (3000 miles) temp was about 12-17F and the breaks where squeaky

Thanks

By looking in the wheel at the pads I can see they are getting close to the wear indicator. Plus from what I am hearing the pads are not expected to last more than 20k miles and I'm sitting at 15.5k. I'm also getting some brake squeal during low speed stops such as pulling into parking spots and such but that may just be the freezing temps as of late.

If they do, don't expect work warranty to be included. An indy shop can do it for a fraction of the labor cost.

Question for you:

I need to buy a set of drag radials next week. What size, manufacturer, etc. are you using? What wheels do you have them mounted on?

If I remember correctly you were saying that you 18" DR required that you to shift right before the finish line. If so, would another 4-500 rpm before hitting the rev limiter have helped?

Time to revive this old discussion - Peter, I remembered this post, and now I can say, yes, absolutely, my rotors are wearing just like the photo you posted a long time ago. It's only recently I've noticed it probably because I've been more concerned with keeping track of the cracks, but it's there and big as life.
