I am not sure what you mean by "calibrating"? There is no such thing as calibrating a Nav (unless you know your exact position and enter its coordinates in the system which can then compare them with its received/computed coordinates).
If it's off by 10 miles that probably means it got a correct signal 10 miles ago and reported the correct position back then. I suppose you might have an issue with your GPS antenna since it's unlikely that your software would be wrong (and not everybody else software).

Dealer put in a wrong Nav DVD, and the Nav system was based your location by your speed and direction, not by the nav satellite. I would then have to recalibrate the Nav every 10 miles or so.
Take it back to the dealer and tell them that the Nav Disc version is incompatible.

Sounds like the GPS antenna connection is not seated. Do you see "GPS" on your screen when it is on?

I had the same problem when I installed my iPod adapter and hacked my Nav. As stated above:
1) do you have "GPS" showing in the upper left corner of the Nav screen?
2) If not you need to take the unit out and make sure the GPS antenna is firmly seated
Without out the the GPS antenna the Nav tries to calculate your position based on speed, turns etc., to fill in the gaps when you might lose your GPS signal. If it's solely relying on these calculations (and not the GPS antenna) it will become more and more inaccurate.

OK...need a little help. Took my 2008 ISF into the dealer for the ELF and airbag recalls. Now that I got it back, the GPS needs to be re-calibrated every few weeks. I was thinking the ELF recall was the culprit but it I guess it could be the airbag recall where they may have accidentally unplugged the antenna going through the glove box???. I can't find any diagrams of the antenna wiring position. Thoughts? I really would hate to take it back to the morons at the dealership. But I also do not want to pull the head unit if I can avoid it. FYI - non-ML head unit and factory Ipod adapter in glove box. Thanks! (EDIT: found a diagram)

I would assume that they didn't touch the headunit but perhaps knocked the wire out during the airbag recall and going through the glovebox. What a pain....this is why I never go to the dealer. Thx
