3M tape won't protect you from rock chips. Rocks flying @ you at 60mph+ will still make a dent in your car. You are better off using packaging tape and taping it down with the 3M tape.

At least you won't need to scrub off all the bugs off your bumper.

lol..that would just strip away the clear coat more....

i will also have some replies to some of the not so encouraging posts made in my thread

and FYI all of my clearcoat is in tact and the car is just as glossy as it ever was... thanks for ruining the rest of my roadtrip by making me worry about that all night yesterday

Did you get any rock chips? I used the 3M tape from San Francisco, to LA and i got like 4 .

How so? I've done it before. Maybe you don't know what i'm talking bout. It's not really foam, but kinda like bubble wrap, but thicker.

Anyways it doesn't matter, cause she made it.

Glad you got to socal safe and sound! 1 rock chip will be okay, nothing a blue sharpie cant fix

I think you made record time! I know i would dead tired if i made that kind of a drive..

thank you this is actually my 5th visit here since feb. 07

i tried in-n-out burger my 2nd visit.. yummmmmy

maybe i'll stop over at aero and let them put the smoked vinyl on my rear reflectors... everything else is clearbra'd already
