OEM wheels run 2 grand a piece, wouldn't anything be a downgrade? Last time I checked, IS-F owners aren't spending $8,000 for wheel upgrades back at you!
I'm thinking about preserving the OEM wheels for resale, and running something different when the rubber gets worn. I guess I'm the only one who thinks this is a good idea

I think people are talking about a downgrade in terms of quality, not price.
Forged wheels are generally stronger, but companies like Enkei, WORK, even BBS make quality cast wheels as well.

My point is that your trading a STRONGER & LIGHTER wheel for a weaker, heavier, less-quality wheel...My point is that you have 55k to spend on a expensive high performance car, why not spend the wheels worthy of an upgrade...IMHO, a wheel that is worth only $350-450 per wheel does not belong on a high-end performance car like the IS-F...
I think the majority of IS-F owners are content with their 19inch rollers, and are more inclined to upgrade exhaust, intake, etc. I dropped 60 large on my car, but that doesn't mean I want to nor can afford to blow 8 grand on new wheels, especially in this economic climate. Your statement IMO is incredulous, and lacks credibility. It was inane logic such as this, that has put us in the financial crisis we are in today. I'm in debt 70 grand with financing on my new car, what's another 10 grand for some new wheels? stinkin thinkin, stinkin thinkin!

Next, I agree with One Hot's comment about an Axis wheel vs. the stock BBS - he makes a completely credible assessment. If you think the Axis looks better than stock, just say so. But don't expect to get agreement from all of the enthusiasts in this forum.

It's gonna blow up? No.
It's gonna rust out? No.
It's gonna get uglier? No.
Hmmm...tell me what's gonna happen. Surely the extra 5 lbs is gonna make it run 6.0 in the 60? No.
I don't get it. What's gonna happen?
