Default Black exhaust tips opinion?

I saw an IS-F from SEMA with the exhaust tips painted black. What do you guys think about painting them flat black, and how hard would it be to pull off the tips? Looking under the car, it's really only a couple bolts but I think that removes the entire assembly out including plastic surrounding the tips. I don't know if just the tips can be pulled out to paint?

I think black pearl emblems, plus 20% tint, plus flat black exhaust tips could look sick!

At SEMA you saw the Motorworld Hype IS-F.. One of the 4 builds...

Its 4 bolts and its not that easy.... it actually may require removing the rear exhaust to access the other 2 top side bolts...
The entire collector is connected to the Tips and mesh. Its an ALL in ONE deal.

Painting the tips should be pretty easy if your handy... requires sanding, taping and some high temp paint.....

Personally, I would probably recommend High Temp Powder Coating to ensure a finish that will last a long time...

Hey JZ, you think I would need high temp spray paint even though the tips aren't connected? They have never really felt that hot to me? If I have to remove some of the exhaust I don't think it's worth it if I'm going to upgrade the exhaust any way down the line (either do it then, or have new exhaust with new tips like the Greddy setup at SEMA).

Not sure, I never really touched them after a long drive... Something in my head told me not too...

Yeah that Greddy Quad set up "looked nice" as a one off concept, but I can't see any reason to remove those 2 functional OEM exhaust collectors / diffusers.

Word

I wonder how much the rear diffuser/exhaust tip setup helps downforce when you're hardly ever going over 100?

I was considering doing this mod as well until I looked and like Joe Z said, it'd be tough to remove just the tips. Good idea though maybe I'll have a shop look at it

Not really feeling black tips...I think it looks good on the SEMA car because the lower bumper is black as well. Someone should do a titanium coating on them instead.. that would look sick.

I think it also depends on the color of your car. White, black, blue would look good with black tips. Silver, Grey could go either way!

i was looking under the car this weekend thinking about it. i want to get everything done black (emblems, grille, window trim, and exhaust tips). it seems the hardest part would be the window trim. not sure how that could be done. and i wouldn't want to do everything else and have just chrome around the windows.
