Jumpy gears when cold

When you first start it, do you let it warm up a bit or just start driving?
When I start mine, I let it warm up a bit (until the RPM's drop back down to 1k) or until the fluid gauge below the RPM gauge is four or five lines warmed up. I haven't noticed any hard shifting or jumpy gears when I do that. Now when I'm in a hurry and I start it and just take off, I notice jumpy gears, its just cause the engines not warmed up properly, its getting all the fluids flowing again, etc. etc.

We get cold weather like you and I have never noticed the jumpiness you're referring to.
I did learn that you can't use the paddle shifters until the car has had a chance to warm up sufficiently. I have an on ramp less than 2 blocks from our place that can be fun...but if I WOT and try to paddle shift the automatic takes over. I was concerned and called Lexus and was explained that it is basically a protective measure so that we don't damage our tranny's

Anyone else have TPS low warning come on? It's 38 degrees out and my light has been on all week because of the differential

its never cold here but ive noticed it when my car is actually cold. i always warm it up. it only seems to "jump" once into second gear, once in a while and ONLY when i first get out on the road. after that, its fine..
how about it idling at around 500 rpms when the ac is off. has anyone experienced that?

yes i've noticed idling at 500 rpms...i also thought that was unusual...i brought it to dealer's attention and they couldn't reproduce the problem...Sometimes when the car is warm enough after the drive and you stop somewhere at a light or a complete stop....I hear some metal clicking sound from the engine and its coming from driver side of the engine... not sure what that is...definitely doesn't sound normal....Everytime i've taken car to a dealer, car will not reproduce the symptoms...Next time i am going to record the sound

it's jumpy, but only for a bit...i warm up at least 5 mins then i drive it really carefully until the oil temp gets up at least 2 bars...3 bars is about as high as i've seen mine go
