A Congrats is in order here!!!
Yes its true.. the Smoky Granite Mica does a great job in hiding things..
My 2001 IS300 was Graphite Gray Pearl and when I graduated into my current IS350, I couldn't resist the Smoky Granite Mica finish.
So big deal that I've been driving a Gray color Lexus for over 8 years..

I was really torn with Ultrasonic Blue and Starfire Pearl, and never regretted my decision. I'm sure what ever color you decide, you'll have a perfect reason for choosing that color. Maybe have them line it up side by side, and see if it makes a difference. I went with starfire pearl over a coin flip-lol

Silver - the dirtproof color.
I never drove my corvette in the rain and after 6 years, it still looked fantastic. New job, no garage to park in anymore. Couldn't bear the thought of it. So this time, I got a silver ISF.

Word, MM shows the lines of the car the best. Black is too hard to keep clean, white is for country club milfs, blue has boy racer arrest me written all over it, matador looks like a bowl of tomato soup and the granite doesn't show the contrast with the gunmetal wheels.
No offense to other owners but the IS-F is meant for silver!

I gotta say, the passion of IS-F owners on CL compared to other model owners is amazing!! I believe it's MM, SGM, and Obsidian, in that order.
Great suggestion before Chikken, will line them up.... maybe drive all three "just to be sure"

Mercury mettalic is not only the VERY BEST color, it also looks good in all stages of being dirty without ever looking dirty!! When newly washed, it looks brilliant and slowly over the next week or two the shade of the color slowly gets darker but it NEVER looks dirty even after being driven in rain. WOW

I love my Obsidian IS-F. Although it does require more work to look nice, the weekly washes and biweekly waxes are worth it. Also with the NM rims and the white leather accent on the steering wheel, it's a subtle gem.

i ordered my obsidian F last year and i think i called twice to change it to SGM and then back to obsidian before i received it. it is hard to keep clean. minor scratches are visible but no regrets. i really like the white and you can never go wrong with silver, but my is350 is silver. i like the red and even the blue (least favorite but still nice). my advice to you is to get the SGM. it matches the rims and hides scratches well. it can be dirty yet look clean and it looks great with the black interior.
