Default Lexus replacing my ISF wheels

Hey everybody, I am new to this forum. I have a mercury silver ISF.
Some months ago I started noticing pitting on my wheels. I complained one time and the dealer service rep took pictures and sent them to the Factory rep. I was told yesterday to bring the car in and leave it because the factory rep would be today...
Well to my suprise he agreed to replace all 4 wheels as a GOOD WILL gesture.
Of course I was pleased but also disappointed.
My comments went as follows..
I bought a 60K car where brake dust causes wheel pitting.
I think Lexus engineering needs to evaluate and perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and determine exact cause.
He then informed me that he contacted the entire East coast Factory reps and found no similar occurance.
I drive 100 miles to and
from work every day and I now Have 16K miles since March, this may be why nobody else has observed this problem.

I was also told that I was not cleaning the wheels often enough and that replacing the wheels was a one time offer....

Thse wheel as you all know are very expensive and I suggest all forum ISF owners watch and complain at the fist sign of pitting/rust
I clean the wheels and the car at least once per week every week.

Hope this is informative...

By the way thanks to this forum and reading the posts got me looking closely at my $2200/a piece wheels
Thanks

Wow, thats interesting! It shows the great customer service of Lexus. I just washed mine and didn't notice any pitting but will keep my eyes open for it!

If you're still in the NN area, you need to come out to one of our mini-meets at Bass Pro one day.

damn..my dealership gave me a problem about replacing 1 rim that THEY damaged while washing it. you are very lucky. i havent seen any sign of damage due to rust. i get my car cleaned about once a week and i usually tell them to pay special attention to my rims to remove the rust/buildup in the corners...

rnpjstewar do you have pics that you can post of your wheels pitting/rusting? That would be a great help to me.

Thanks

I was quoted $1,100 for the fronts (each) so I'm not sure where you got 2,200 from

I am over 10,000 miles, clean the wheels every week when I wash my car and luckily have had zero issues. I do however need to find a way to clean the dust on the inside part of the wheel where it is impossible to reach through the spokes. Props to Lexus for taking care of the problem as well they should.

I bumped a curb a few weeks back and had the left front wheel replaced, along with a 4-wheel alignment. Dealer had to replace the sensor, too, for what reason I do not know. Total bill was $1,945, including the trivial shop supplies charge. Tire was not hurt, but wheel was scuffed. As I recall, the wheel retailed for $1,700 and change. Cost me $300 deductible on insurance. And, no, the dealer did not give me the scuffed wheel, nor did I ask for it.

^ That is the same price sewell is offering. The link below shows the price for a set of 4 which Sewell has for $6,598.18 without TPMS. That is $1,649 a wheel....that appears to be a good price, especially with TPMS....
