We'll squeeze out what we can, there's just not as much left over as in the C63 tunes.

edit: Sorry I missed the exhaust question earlier.

If you mean full exhaust as in longtube to tailpipe, you're going to want to send the ECU back in for a quick A/F tweak. A dynosheet with tailpipe A/F meter would also be very helpful. I run dual widebands in all my cars.

Better make that exhaust sound good Andy!

BTW, do you have a vid so we can hear the sound of the C63 exhaust?

Yes, I go there pretty often. They're opening the track again this Friday.

I think I'm confused about what exactly is gained with this TCU revamp. Is there any possible way to record/determine if the car is shifting faster or smoother or is it just speculation as of right now. I guess I'm just wondering if an ECU tune was done without a TCU tune, would one really notice less than a .1 second shift time?

Like Juan said prior, it's hard to notice a quicker shift b/c .1 seconds is already a very fast shift. I think my real question is how much is the TCU tune really contributing vs. the ECU tune. Like everyone else, I'm really anxious to see what the 2nd tune and track times show.

Thanks again

Valid question. It would make itself known at the track vs an ECU only car, or if Juan were to ECU only test then test both. It's also the most obvious and first thing you notice when you drive the car (shifting changes). It's not just a WOT change, just like our ECU tuning we change part throttle as well. Unfortunately other than at the track no quantitative measurement exists to measure the gains from our TCU tuning, you just have to drive a car with it to understand.
Also what we learned with the MB TCUs (we did a TCU only E63 with previous and documented Renntech only ECU) is that there are gains to be had from removing the TCU only tq management. We gained 8/13rw at peak from the TCU only tuning with gains across the board in that specific app. Obviously the gains would likely be smaller with the 5.0L but they will still be there.

Will do!

We're not done fabbing the exhaust for the C63, but as soon as we are (1-1.5 wks) I'll get some clips up. Though clips never do it justice.

Just for "****s and giggles" I plotted my STOCK IS-F dyno run vs the ECU tuned run from Juan. Please keep in mind, DIFFERENT conditions, DIFFERENT dynos...both SAE.

Great info houstonT. As far as I remember your IS-F had the highest HP number, right. Now that you plotted both graphs together it looks like my dyno run has the same curve as yours, but bumped a little throughout the whole power band.

EDIT: Maybe yours wasn't the highest HP number, I think it was caymandiver. I'm not sure anymore.

Are you going to be able to make the Jan 24th HRP track rental?

Thanks
