Default 2008 IS-F for 7k off sticker can I do better

Took my sc430 in for service and was drooling over the black IS-F in the lot. They offered me $22k for a trade in on my 2004 SC430 with 37,500 miles on it which is a "fair" offer since I drive it year round in cold WI. They offered me $7000 off sticker as well. Now, I think I will keep the SC430 anyway to sell to my daughter at some absurdly low price since she wants it, but I think I can do better on the price for the IS-F since I have read reports of the 2008 selling for up to $10K below sticker. We left without making an offer but since they were "late" working on my car they let us take one of the IS-Fs home with us for the night. Will return in late AM. Love the car, but think I can get a better deal. I love my dealership and would rather buy there than save a little elsewhere. Am I dreaming about getting $10K off sticker? I believe the great APR deals are gone as they said the best they could get was about 6.1% for me.

BTW, just bought a Pebble Beach RX-350 for my wife several weeks ago there, so this would be our 3rd car in 4-5 years from this dealer.

Any advice?

It is a 2008. I would jump on 7k off a 2009!

You should definitely be able to get 10k off sticker with full loaded at 61ish MSRP. Is this ML/NAV? BTW, someone on the forums found a quote from a dealer at 48k for the 2008. This was Herb Chambers in Massachusetts I believe. I'm in a market (Atlanta) where the ISFs were not marked down much and still sold high since there were not many here unlike the west coast, but I mentioned how I could get the car delivered from Massachusetts and still stay under 50k. I ultimately told them I was willing to pay a bit more to buy locally, but I was not going to pay 56k. I ended up getting it at a shade under 51 this Monday. Good luck, and hope that helps.

Thanks a lot! Yes this helps a lot. I will be taking this info in with me to negotiate tomorrow.

Edit: Yes this is ML/Nav. Guess I'll see how much this dealer wants to move this car...

Be careful using out of state comparisons unless it's a neighboring state. I called Longo about buying from them again, and I got a flat "can't do it, too far away" from Elise. I know she would have loved to sell me a car again, but she just couldn't do it from Georgia to California. I did use a comparison from a neighboring state very effectively though.

Lobux, are you in Georgia? For some reason I kept thinking you were in California.

WIth this info in hand I approached my salesman who has sold us two cars already and always been a pleasure to work with. I said that I thought they offered me good deal but I could get an incredible one in California (12K off sticker). I asked if they could make an intermediate offer as I would of course rather buy from them. Got $10k off sticker plus free key insurance and free wheel replacement/tire care insurance. S0, $10k off plus $734 in additional value to protect those expensive wheels...
The key replacement plan always pays for itself for my wife and me as I lose/break 1-2 keys every 3-4 years. I was satisfied. Thanks, all, for the info! You saved me about $3734 not including interest on that amount over 5 years!

God bless this forum and all its members.

Edit: BTW, got an Obsidian black with black interior, loaded except for radar cruise control thingy which I have not seen in any IS-Fs around here. ML audio "may" be better than in my 2004 SC430 or may just be different acoustics and initial settings on the stereo. Love that engine moan/growl on startup and after ~3000rpm when the second airflow vent opens. Much tighter, sportier ride than the sc430, and updated electronics of course. The run flats are as I remembered them, bumpy and a coarse ride. However, they don't seem to grab every linear imperfection in the road and try to ride it like my sc430's runflats did. Will probably replace with non run flats when they wear out. My sc430 runflats had bald, rear inner tires after 11,500 miles and I replaced them with Michelins.

Default Run Flats

I think that you will find that your tires are not run-flats. You have a spare tire in the trunk under the mat. I originally thought I had run flats because they looked so much like my wife's run flats on her new BMW 335i convert. One day when at NTW for something else I commented about my run flats and the technician informed me that the tires on my car are not run flats and then proceeded to show me where the spare tire was.

Darn! Everyone at the dealer ship was saying these are run flats. They certainly are low profile tires! Will look for the spare ASAP and comment.
