Hey guys, thanks for the good responses....a few replies:

1. No I have NEVER road raced this car (on these tires)...
2. I am fairly easy on her (for the most part) as my MPG AVG since new is 18.7 mpg
3. I do not think it's an under inflation issue as I ALWAYS keep my tires to spec (36,36 - cold)
4. chrisburke - I think you're on to something, let us know after your visit to Lexus.

This isn't apples to apples but...

Our old 2002 IS300 chewed through tires. We only got 10-15,000 miles out of a set because of wear on the inside. Tires were properly inflated and alignment was set to factory spec. We used the car as a commuter and it was never tracked.

We tried adjusting the alignment but then the car drove like crap.

Do you have the Bridgestones or the Michelins

I'd bet Bridgestones

And for your info I just got back from the dealer and there settings for the F is set so the front has Positive camber. Therefore the front outter tread wears faster.

positive camber?! how can that be good for handling? most sport cars (or even normal road cars) have slightly negative camber

so camber on the is-f are adjustable?

I've been taking it easier on the car so I can prolong the tire life. Of course, when I do briefly drive the car hard, it all evens out again.

If you're getting 16.5k on the fronts, isn't that good, considering the tires? I only got 15k on my IS350 fronts, and those are smaller tires than the ISF; the insides were completely worn...

I think the majority consensus on this forum is that the Michelin PS2s are a far superior tire on the F than the Bridgestones. The Stones wear faster and start to rumble before they wear out. They don't handle as well, and, as you found out, wear faster. My F originally came with Stones, but I made the dealer swap with another F on the lot that had the PS2s before I would sign on the dotted line.

Can someone please let me know if tire ware can lead to excessive, or more play in the steering wheel?

If not tire wear, then what could be causing it?

I didn't know the PS2's were expected to last longer. I had heard the opposite, if your driving style was more aggressive, the PS2's wear quicker than the Potenzas. I currently have the Potenzas, and they haven't worn too bad. But with the huge cost difference I just am having a hard time justifying buying the PS2's for just street driving. If I chose to do a track event, I would buy more expensive tires of course, but do you guys think getting the PS2's for daily use is that much of a difference and/or worth the extra $$$$.

From my personal experience the PS2's will wear much faster than the Potenzas! The PS2s are much better, but not justifiable IMHO for street driving only.
