Very nice...did you notice any pick up in low end power? Definately will be an add in the near future.

you can bet that i'm going to be replacing those with something.... something that doesn't look like it came off a corolla.

The clamps are actually a nicer automotive grade Stainless Steel worm clamp.

They are simple in design and right along the lines of the oem setup.

It was looking into some over enginered Turbo T-bolt clamps, but I think they looked a bit out of place for this type of intake pipe upgrade.

Thank You

Joe - I think he was talking about those 2 small wire pinch style hose clamps at the engine side on top of the tube. I will be replacing those two small clamps also. Otherwise, the thing looks great and gets rid of the resonators on the factory tube

Joe will you gain any additional whp with the intake/exhaust combo, or will it cancel it out?

Now that I've driven it a while, I feel like the engine runs a little smoother, especially in normal mode. It doesn't feel like its struggling or as sluggish as it was before the exhaust and tube install. I imagine I would gain those 5wrhp at the low RPM end, is that right Joe?

I need to find some open roads and shoot some

Those were a bit of a hassle. One wouldn't stay clamped down so I had to keep pulling the clamp off and tightening it, finally I got it to hold the vacuum hose down and all seems good now

Hey Lou

Well since he mentioned "hose clamps", I figured that's what he meant.. LoL..

The wonderful oem little pinch spring clamps on the vacuum lines are not the best design, but Lexus has being using that exact set up for a long time.
Same exact part is found on the 2001+ IS300, 2006+ IS & GS and probably the rest of the Lexus line up..

There is not any exiting pressure from those lines as there is a constant vacuum suction force on them. (when engine is running)

To match the rest of the clamps, you can pick up two of these mini clamps at any local harware store..

Default hose clamps

i was pretty much referring to the entire engine compartment....

the stainless steel bands i don't mind so much, you can dress those and make them look decent.

but the cheapo wire ones really look like

glad the engine cover hides all that crap.

i'll be ordering one of these in blue... to match my car!

oh, i'm at 1100 miles.... WOT WOT WOT!

no way i'll go back to my TL-S... i gave that one to wifey.

I think is exactly what I need. I've always wanted the car to be a little more responsive at the low end.

I'd say pick one of these up and then grab an exhaust

Joe popped mine in the mail a few days ago. Mike. I'll be getting it soon and fitting it soon after since the arctic cold has gone.
Temp was all the way up to 40 degrees today....Woohoooo. Tomorrow even warmer but wet...... Oh well, I don't mind shovelling rain....

That much closer to F weather.

Is the wedge looking part on top of the factory tube really a resonator?

Yes it is a sound resonator for the oem intake system.
