The best performance mods are made to the driver, not the car. Any time you can get in a car at the track with a good instructor you'll be better without spending a dime on parts.

I took the 2 day course at Laguna Seca a long time ago (i.e., in the 90s), but only because I got a heavily discounted rate. It's a very expensive program... way out of my price league at the time. That said, I thought it was a great instruction tool but I didn't like that we used Dodge vehicles rather than open wheel formula cars. The Viper was (is?) a really lousy car, with shoddy transmission and iffy weight balance and stability. IMO drivers get better understanding of racing techniques - not to mention their own capabilities - with an "ideal" car, so to speak.

On the Skip Barber website, it appears that racing programs for both Formula Mazda/Mazda Cup cars and typical road-going vehicles are available. Of course, if your intent is to drive the same car that they use for the training (like the F), then I suppose it might work out!

When purchasing the Neiman Marcus Edition, Lexus provided the Skip Barber 1/2 day school, which really was almost a full day. The IS-F's and the instuctors were fantastic. The cars performed unbelievably great. I would recommend this to anyone who has a few bucks left.

Check out this one.

http://www.raceschool.com/newsite2/c...high_perf.html

It is a little more reasonable price wise. I am planning on attending later this spring.
