The hankooks hook better than the oem bridgestones IMO. My fastest 60' has been on these tires. Ill never buy another set... but they have been better than oem lol. Next tire is going to be a KDW i think. I dont really drive the car much anymore so i dont think ill mind driving around on some sort of DR.
And I also had the KDW's they are great for a while then when the tread gets low they start to hook like **** and spin everywhere.

Everything was great except my first gear. I wasnt able to launch higher than 1200rpm without getting wheel hop. Other than the first gear traction issue the car ran great. The car in the left lane during my pass was a 517whp gtr. its great because if you look compare our 1/8th and 1/4th mile mphs i was coming for him. Im sure i would be able to get him from a roll without an issue.

Headed out to the track for the first time in my IS-F. I don't know if I could love this car more!! For being stock it definitely held it's own. My first run was the fastest.
Here's the details:
2008 IS-F 18,000 miles - San Antonio, Texas
82 degrees
87% humidity
Best run of the night:
13.1849 @ 109.04
The remainder of the runs where 13.2's with one being a 13.3 (car in D)
On my 13.18 run I ran against a buddies c5z06 w/ intake, short shifter, and lightweight flywheel and although he edged me out on the time (13.1805 @ 108.88) my quick reaction time got me the White slip (winning one).
I also ran against a brand new SS camaro. His best run was around the 13.5 mark. Car was a manual and was his first time at the track.
Finally an 04 cobra (with x-pipe, intake, drag radials) who best'ed a 13.6. Car was a manual and was also his first time at the track.
Looks like I'll be ordering my exhaust and possibly a set of drag radial's sooner than expected to try my shot at 12's (on a less humid night of course)

Hit the track today and just couldn't break into 12's!!
My best time was:
60ft: 2.137
1/4 miles: 13.093
MPH: 109.12
63 degrees and @ sea level
OK so closer to 13.1 but with a slightly better 60' I'm sure I can do 12's. Car is bone stock except for hankook ventus v12's 245f/275r and half a tad under half a tank of gas.

I'm going to the drag strip this Monday for the first time this year. I have the headers on the car making an additional 40+whp over last year so I'm hoping for some good results this season esp when it cools down.
The DA for Monday is looking to be power robbing +2000ft, so I'll be happy if I can hit a 12.5 or better with the extra power. The closest I have for comparison is a +1256ft DA which I was able to run a best of 12.67@112 bone stock.

Been getting consistent sub 2 second (1.97-1.99) 60 foot times...Sport, Long Button Press, Manual
0) Remove unnecessary weight from the car, engine cover, spare tire, jack, tools, clutter, etc. Less than 1/4 tank of gas, 0 miles to empty would be best...
1) Stage the car as shallow as possible. You should barely light up the bottom bulb...
2) Torque it between 1200-1400 rpm, no more. The tires begin to roast at 1500 and the car starts to buck around 1800...
3) Slam down the accelerator, you should feel the little button behind the pedal sink
4) Shift instantly at the beep...very easy to hit the rev limiter and screw up the run...

Here's my current times tested on my Gtech Pro SS meter.
Conditions
57 degrees F
elevation +75 ft AMSL
60' 2.100
0-60 4.450
330' 5.547
1/8 mile 8.381@88.73mph
1000' 10.808
1/4 mile 12.847@111mph
Car was in sport mode, TRAC/VDIM off, Manual Paddleshift mode and no launch. Also removed spare tire/jack/tools, 1/2 tank of gas and tire pressure at 36psi. I'm pretty sure I can shave a few more tenths off and get my 1/4 mile down to 12.5-12.6 as I'm trying to figure out how to launch the car properly.
