Default Went to the the track last night...

Hey guys, I went to the track last night and was pleasantly surprised at how the car (bone stock) performed. This is my first run (I ran once more with an almost identical result). 10D right side.

Hey guys, just came back from the drag strip. Today was an awesome day. I believe the DA was probably around -1000ft or so. Anyways, the specs of my car is that it's basically stock except the lighter battery, removed spare, jack, tools, manual, the gray engine cover, and the rear rims were 18" Volks with 245 MT drag radials. Gas was "Zero" miles to empty and I weigh about 185. I got a 12.315@115.65 with a 1.884 60' time. I'm pretty happy. So, this particular car has about 100 pounds of weight reduction otherwise stock.

Hello All,

After seeing all of the great times in this thread, I decided to go to the local 1/8 mile drag strip to see how my old family hauler could do. I wasn't expecting much, as they don't do much track prep when it's cold out around here. I just wanted a little practice before I head to Bristol Dragway in the spring for some 1/4 mile fun. I was astounded when i got my slip!

My only modification is my "ho-made" rear muffler replacement, which consists of two small Magnaflow mufflers in place of the stock IS-F setup. I was running the 245/40/18 Mickey Thompson drag radials on 18x8.5 IS350 rear wheels. I had an 1/8 tank of gas and removed the spare, jack and tools. It was 53 degrees at the time of this run, and the DA was 479 feet.

My first was the best of my four runs, but they were all extremely close to one another. My 60 foot times were very consistent, as I got 2.02X on three out of the four runs. I didn't do a burnout, just a little dry launch, which would spin the tires clean. I'm sure I could improve the short time with a burnout and more favorable track conditions. I don't want to go on about this, but what incredible performers these cars are! Folks at the track were surprised too.

Crappy iPhone pic of me rockin the IS350 rear wheels.

Went out to the strip tonight in full street trim (jack and all) managed a 12.6@112 with a 2.01 60' DA of 1232

Oh yeah I was racing a viper too , it was a good race I got it on video and made a little montage with dramatic music and all, I'll post it up once I'm done editing. 1080p or 720p? lol

Made a trip to the dyno today. Here are the details:

2008 IS-F (25k miles) - 362rwhp / 344 rwtq
Cut Secondary Cats and Mufflers
AFE Pro-5r Air Filter

DynoJet
SAE; Smoothing 5
77 Degrees
6th Gear, Sport Mode, VSC off 1st run, VSC on 2nd run (or so I think)

Dyno operator also mentioned his dyno reads approx. 2% lower both SAE and STD because his weather station is not calibrated correctly. I can't comment on the accuracy of this statement.

Nice! That might be the 2nd fastest I've seen!

Just got a 2009 IS-F with 10,000 miles on it. I put it on the dyno today (auto dynamics) and it only read 290hp in 6th gear at about 160mph and 5000rpm. After that, the curve just dropped. Is there a trick to running the IS-F on the dyno? I know when I put the 6.5 liter AMG cars on the dyno they have an actual dyno mode. Is there something similar to this on the IS-F, or is it literally as simple as turning off the traction and stability control? I know auto dynamics normally read low compared to other dyno's, but 290 is a dissapointing number to say the least. Did I run it in the wrong gear? Is 6th gear 1:1? I know in most cars with 7 gears 1:1 is 5th. Thanks for any help.

Correct. My mistake. I was tired last night.

Well I ran it in 6th and peaked at 290. Seems low. Oh well.

Some dyno dynamics & superflows are really unforgiving, so it might be calibrated wrong. You should try another dyno or hit the drag strip to ease your mind. Dont think ive seen any dyno of an IS-F lower than 320whp.
