Birgey, did you just roll out or load the driveline? Your times are good.
Crept up to light the first yellow, gave it a slight amount of gas just to preload the drivetrain and bump into the second yellow but then let go of the gas once the second yellow was lit. Then just punched from idle.
Thanks for the info. Would the Cusco diff make the same difference as the Giken or is the giken superior? Speaking from a strictly drag racing standpoint.
The Cusco will, but it will require more maintenance and may be more chattery. The Giken diff costs more, but they're really hard to wear out and only make a small noise on neutral throttle. If you are playing music in the car you would never hear it. It really makes acceleration so much better than the open diff, and with the SuperPro diff bushings you get no wheel hop and both tires spinning hard.

I did already do the bushings a few months ago. Probably would've been an ideal time to upgrade the diff instead of having to pull it twice...
Made it out to the track last night on the drag radials. DA of around 1750, 20 mph headwind. My first pass was my best pass and probably would've been a high 12.1 but of course they had just reset the timing and it only gave me my 1/8th mile. Second pass was my second best and netted a 12.23@115.1. With the DA corrected (pic attached) it looks like I would've gotten my 11 After that the track got slick. This was under a 1/4 tank, long press off on TC, sport mode, manual shifting. Also, question for you guys. I can't for the life of me get both wheels to spin on the burnout so what's the trick? Car is a 2008 but I don't see others having this issue. Do I need to shift into second on the burnout? Also, is this a record for stock headers? I've also attached videos of the burnout and the 12.23 run as attachments where you can see only one tire spinning. Mods are as follows:
RR Racing Tune
RR Racing Intake
Gutted stock headers PE catback with muffler delete
17x8 +35 rear wheels w/ 245/45/17 Hoosier DR2's
no tools/spare/engine covers
Nice time!
Is this the larger maf RR intake? If so, I was considering getting it, but RR claims no power increase on gutted stock headers. Did you notice a increase in performance?
Made it to Fontana yesterday to get some 1/4 mile time with my daughters. I did bolt the slicks on, but wasn’t worried about my best time since I knew one of my daughters would undoubtedly tire of her IS 350 and want to hot lap the F. Therefore, it was loaded to the gills with almost a full tank of fuel, and EVERYTHING that is normally in the car was. Spare, jack & tools, back seat, floor mats, never even took the engine cover off.
Air was dense early but didn’t get a pass in until around noon, then as predicted my daughter hot lapped the F for 7 or 8 passes. Finally got in another run mid-afternoon, but the heat soak from my daughter camping in the lanes certainly didn’t help. Still managed to pull off a 13.046 @ 109.34, backing it up in the heat with a 12.954 @ 108.26. Stock as a rock with the exception of a Joe Z. OEM exhaust manifolds, intake, everything.
Funny, my daughters think the car is quick, all I can think of during the 1320’ is how it is a second or two slower than most of the cars I have had on the line over the years.
Met up with a few other like-minded Lexus brothers, it was a good time.
The '08s have an open diff from the factory and the eLSD doesn't kick in at burnout speeds. If you really want both to spin, you need some kind of LSD spool like the '10 and later model Torsen.
???
I can get both my '08 IS F rear tires to spin for a burnout, no problem.

That seems to be the general consensus so I don't know why I can't. I need to try it on the stock tires. Maybe it's just bc these radials are so sticky. You can see the passenger side attempting to spin and then gripping. I even did second gear burnouts this last trip to the track and still no luck.
I had 245/18's ET streets a few years back. I had to go around the water box and then back into it and do a quick rev to get entire tire wet. Then pulled forward a couple of feet then gently laid into the throttle to get both spinning. Once they were then shifted into 2nd and let it rip.
Went to Sacramento Raceway last night. DA was around 782 during the time of these 3 passes. I was super happy on the final run being 12.6. My 11 IS-F has X-Force catback exhaust and Hankook V12 tires in stock size.
