That link has been on the initial IS F launch site since the beginning. They are very good write ups on the key features of the IS F.

Exhaust Manifold
Have you all (yes I am from the south) looked at the exhaust manifold on the ISF engine.
It looks like it SUCKS to me. Definitely not even a short tube header system. Might be done that way to maximize clearance, but I would guess that there is lots of rwhp lost in that area.
I know that Andy (MHP) is susposed to be working on long tube headers for the ISF. Obviously he will have to relocate the CATS further back since they are in the downpipes.

Thank for the link. My favorite line is:
"A low-restriction semi-dual exhaust system does its share in promoting engine airflow and adds a distinctive soundtrack as well."
This was the big thing that had me befuddled as soon as I looked at the exhaust. Why a two into one into two system on this vehicle? semi-dual That was the first thing I changed at 100 miles on the odo. I put on a complete dual system. Joe-Zs and the SRT are duals. There's plenty of room. Don't understand why they did that

I don't understand the design behind the intake. Why would they design the primary intake with all those bends? The pipe basically does a complete 180 degree turn, then into another 90 degree elbow. Seems like if somebody made a better airbox without all the weird directional changes, it could really awaken the beast even more. What you guys think?

I think space is the constraint. The V8 is pretty much a tight fit under the hood. Yamaha co-developed this engine with Toyota. Both know a thing or two about engine performance and efficiency. I'm sure they could have managed a different intake design, but there's a science to their creation.
