I just read a post on the LexusF forum that production of the 09' IS-F has been halted. Can anyone confirm and if so is it temporary due to overall weakness in auto sales or something more ominous??

From what I learned, there was no IS-F production in Jan - Feb. and no update on future status. With only @ 2500 08' cars produced for the U.S. and 09' production appearing to be less, the car will continue to be a very rare commodity!!!

I agree that the aftermarket will be very limited, also the IS-F will remain even rarer.

Toyota is cutting production globally by ~35%. This is no surprise. Whether it enhances the value of the cars remains to be seen. It certainly won't enhance values initially when we're seeing cars selling for far less than invoice. If the IS-F was the star of a newer "Fast n' Furious" then we might see something special, but the likelihood of that happening right now seems remote.

Awesome...which makes the 09 IS F even more exclusive.

How's everyone else doing? Some view this kind of thing as a failure, akin to GM shedding product line. How does it look when the new kid in class didn't make it past the first semester?
Exclusive is nice, but extinction is equally undesirable.

sorry for the typo guys, of coarse IS-F. Tough crowd!!!!! Interesting how these threads can get off thier intended path. Was only an FYI and asking if any furher info. was available regarding the future of our car. Other than facts the rest is just speculation and chatter. Although, since the LF-A (did I spell that right?) and other F spec. cars have been put on hold or canceled it does make for an uncertain future. How's that for speculation & chatter!!!

I know of 2 dealerships that have 2009 IS-F. The rest are sitting on a number of 2008 IS-F inventory.
I am very close to securing one, 2 out of the 3 demands have been met, will see about number 3.
