Trac-Control
I decided to have some fun tonight at a light.....so I turned off traction control and put the car in sport mode.
Then when the light turned green ...punched it...the tires spun for a a few seconds and I let off the gas ...then did it again.
The Traction control system kicked back in ....is that common.
Does the system reinitialize itself when the driver lets off the accelerator.
or what causes it to reinitialize?
It seemed odd to me ...is that what is suppose to happen?

No, you don't have to restart the car. You can turn VSC back on with the switch.

Yeah you just have to hold it down like the other guys said to shut it off indefinitely. Pressing it once only turns it off temporarily.

^^^^Dangerous only to the extent that you'll lose the electronic driver aids, built into the car to help keep you from overdriving the vehicle. If turned off, and you get a little rambunctious, you could get yourself in trouble and wreck the car. These aids are designed to save you from yourself.

I would ...if I had one.. the dealer told me he would order it..(my car didnt have any of the books or even the leather cover that they come in)..but I havent been able to catch him since. I tried ordering one from lexus.com or customer care...but they sent me one from an IS350/250. If anyone knows where I can get a set of manuals for an 08 IS-f for lest than $100 please let me know.

This has been the standard operation since the 2007 IS350. Thanks to a great friend at Lexus, I actually swapped out the skid control ECU from a 2007 IS350 into my 2006 IS350 to see if this would work without any other mods because the 2006 required the pedal dance to turn off the VSC. It worked. So, I've known about this for a couple of years.
