Default Finally!

I will finally become an F owner by the end of this week. Just waiting for the call from the truck driver. I got a 2008 USB/Alpine demo through a sponsor of another forum, who located it for me from a dealer in WI. 26xx miles, new Michelin PS2 tires, fresh oil/filter, Nav/Lev, park assist, hl washers, sirius satelite radio, preferred accessory package, and all weather mats. MSRP was $62.1k. Got it for $50k + TTL + my shipping costs.

Pics will be up as soon as I get it weather permitting. It's supposed to rain a bit here for the rest of the week. =\ I'll take pics of it coming off the truck and right off of it haha. It's going to get clear bra hopefully by this weekend at Aerotect. Then I'll wash it and take real pics with some scenery.

Next up, I'm going to look at custom plates. Here are my ideas. Feel free to comment.

*I'm not sure if the "-" symbol is allowed here in CA. If not, I'll use a half-space instead.
IS-FTW - IS-For The Win
IS-FLIP - a nod to my filipino heritage
IS-FAST - self explanatory, though an attention grabber especially from cops and ricers
IS-FREE - the feeling of freedom you get from driving the F
BIGBOY1 - one of my nicknames is big boy haha. no, I'm not big!
WOOCREW - inside joke

Sorry for the long read! I got too excited.

Welcome to the club. The wait should be well worth it.

If you think about it please let me know what you think of the clear bra after you get it installed. i have been considering doing this since i have read a lot about the soft paint Lexus uses.

Congrats, nice to see yet another IS-F owner get a sweet deal (I paid 60k last year)

In regards to your vanity plate, I'm a little biased towards 8SPEEED

I had FAST 97 as a Cali. plat back in the 90's for my 1997 Mits GS-T. it attracted a bit more attention from my local authority figures than I would have liked.

Why new tires and oil filter for only 26XX miles?

Thank you! Me too. I couldn't believe I found a USB/Alpine with the options I was looking for despite the few miles.

Yeah! I started really searching in January. I've been researching the car ever since I saw it come out. I was intending on getting a Lotus Exige S until this car came out. Gotta stay Toyota somehow because I love them!

Thanks! Most definitely worth the wait.

I will surely let you know. I'm aiming for a Friday install. I would highly recommend it to keep your pride in pristine condition. Thanks to the EPA, the car manufacturers have to use a softer, water-based paint now so they're not as durable.

haha dam! I guess reading his posts and listening to sound clips and seeing pics doesn't help either huh? I'm not sure what I have planned yet for the F.

Thank ya! Yeah I almost paid MSRP on a special order '09 I had coming in, but Lexus corp. cancelled it without me knowing. Long story short. Thank goodness they did or I wouldn't have had this sweet deal. Blessing in disguise I guess.

I like that, thanks! That's not a bad idea. Hopefully no one took it here yet.

Dam. I don't think I will use FAST in the plate anymore lol.

This demo was driven by a Lexus exec and sold to the dealership with 21xx miles. The dealer decided to put on new tires and I have no idea why but I can't complain. I asked personally that the oil/filter be changed because the car is 10 months old with the oil/filter that came from the factory and I wanted it changed since it's been in there that long for peace of mind. I still have my complimentary first service though.

Thanks Joe! I hope to have some of your fine products in my ride in the near future.

I asked the dealer about the mileage and they said a Lexus exec personally drove it. It was truly cared for and not abused. Otherwise, I would not have bought this car knowing it was beaten and flogged lol.

I hope this doesn't bum you out or make you regret your decision you still got a great car but if THIS car came from the Lexus dealership in Madison WIs. it was driven on the track at a few Taste of Lexus events in the midwest this past summer,I know this because my friend wanted a blue/alpine and that was the only available in the midwest(IL,WI,IN) that is the reason they put new tires and brakes on the car and the salesguy we met with said he "believed" it was but "only" a couple of times....still a sick combo and price
