lol. that thing has been talked about since 2003... it wont come out... especially with the economy and new gas laws..... i would even be surprised if cars like the is-f will be around in the next 10 years

So realistically, we'll be lucky if they have a 2010 model. But if I were doing one, I'd ask for
540 hp (gotta keep up with Caddy)
500 lb weight reduction (3300 lbs would be OK)
285/35/19 Front and 335/30/19 Rear (car could really use more rubber on the ground!)
Adjustable suspension by Penske or Moton.
6 inch height reduction
rear seat delete option in a Coupe offering

Well from what information I have (and no, I don't get my info from magazines, I am just lucky to do business with "someone") , there will be a 2010 model and there will also be a complete model change for the IS-F after the ISXXX has its full model change. I am willing to take bets at this stage of the game, who is game?

It reminds me of when I was in high school and the 300zx, 3000gt, Supra and RX7 were battling it out. I thought these cars would always be around and continue to improve. Then folks started buying SUVs in droves and one by one these wonderful sports cars disappeared. In recent years we have seen a sports car revival, but I'm afraid the end is near. I sure hope I am wrong.

I'm good with FI as long as performance continues to improve. Turbos have gotten so much better in recent years. Go drive a 335i and tell me if you can feel any turbo lag. I will miss the sound of a V8, but understand that car companies have to make cars that will sell. What I'm not ready for is the all electric performance car. Sure you will get 100% of the motor's torque immediately, but what will it sound like?

I am all for new technology especially in the performance car category so long as the manufacturers do not do away with V8s and V10s. The new Karma from Fisker (the designer of the Z8 and Austin Martin) looks mighty nice regardless of being a plug-in elec/hybrid. Preliminary performance numbers state a 0-60 time of 5.8 sec. And if you are concerned about how it sounds or NOT as the case may be, I heard a report that the Karma is suppose to blast out fake engine sounds which are audible in the interior as well - that part sounds kind of cheesy to me.
