Didn't know there's such a plan. Does it cover brake pads & rotors? What else does it cover?

Wow, neither did I. Each dealership is different and can offer what they want to customers. Interesting though, any more information on it?

i don't think it's a good idea to have prepaid service in general. once the dealer has your money, what is going to motivate him to keep doing a good job? what if you have to move to another city, or what if the dealer goes belly up? and how much saving is there? if it's a small saving, let's say < 20%, i'd say it is definitely not worth it.

Our local dealerships offer this and it's just the normal every 5k work. It doesn't cover the brake pads and rotors..when they said that I said no thanks.

Agreed. I don't see why you'd prepay for anything unless a very substantial discount was offered.

I agree with what you both say. The unfortunate thing is, some people would like to pay even more by financing this service along with the car. I can't imagine why someone would choose this because it doesn't fit my financial model in any way, but there are those who would choose this path so they only have one payment to make and all standard service is covered.

your exactly right not every buyer wants to deal with this later and some buy the car for others and want it to be hassle free. i have seen many wealthy men purchase cash a new lexus for a lady friend and want everything included so she wont have any problems!

I have considered prepaying for my repairs just in case their costs continue to rise. This would lock in my price. But that's just my 2 cents.

Oh and dealer wanted $1400 for the term of my lease, 4years, 40k miles.

That's not a bad deal if including brake pads & rotors.
