I just ordered some Front Ceramic pads for the IS-F. They were only $127 shipped! I'm not sure, but I believe the pads are made by ceramicool. I was going to jump on the Ferodo pads, but when I called and found out they had ceramic pads with less wheel dust I jumped on them. When I get them, I'll write up a DIY and post some feedback as they get worn in.

I wipe down the wheels after every drive. Regarding the ceramic's, I thought about that also. But they don't have the performance of the OEM or the Ferodo Pads. IMHO, I'd rather have the performance tan less dust. When I need new pads, I will be going with Ferodo.

I am very happy with the Ferodo's and quite frankly feel the braking performance is in line with stock. FWIW the stock Brembo pads are made by Ferodo...

The ceramic pads are on UPS and due to arrive tomorrow. I plan to install them next weekend as I'll be in CA for a conference the rest of the week and finally meeting up with ole JOEZ in person. I'll post a DYI on the pad install and give you all feedback once they are broke in.

18,500 miles and there was about 1 mm left before the brake pad squeel indicator would be all over the rotor.

Default Ferodo Pads

Hey Peter,

I just ordered a set of Ferodo 2500 pads for the front. I had them overnighted so that I can install tomorrow night and have them broken in prior to Thursday.

Pat sounds good...your break in will be to brake a few times...once the glaze wears off you will be good to go.

can't wait to see it and get your thoughts on performance.

Do ceramic pads have any effect on the life of the rotors?
