IS-F Evolution......

Lexus sure has some *****, maybe they can see into the future and our global economic disaster will miraculously turn around, and we all are as rich as the Prince of Dubai.
Well, with only 500 plan production, I don't see a big line or deposits being laid down at any of the dealerships anytime soon.

180K yen? I will take a car that costs $1,800 US any day of the week...
I think they have their currency conversion mixed up, I have been told that if they do go ahead with this car that it will be about 11,500,000 yen or with todays conversion rate $116K US dollars.(Currently the IS-F is selling for $90K US dollars in Japan) So if it does go into production I would think that a most it may be about $20-25K more expensive than the current "F" in terms of dollar a amount.
Remember people, don't believe everything you hear...

Article
About a little more than a year ago, it was reported that Lexus is working on a hotter version of the Lexus IS-F high-performance sedan known as the Lexus IS-F Evolution aka IS-F/R. Fighting its way through the horrible economic downturn, the IS-F Evolution, although delayed, will soldier on.
Initially, the Lexus IS-F Evolution was expected to be powered by an uprated version of the 5.0L V8 making a total of 429-hp. However, Lexus has now decided to stick with the standard 416-hp from the IS-F and will concentrate on weight saving methods that can chop off about 300 pounds from the base IS-F. Handling and braking upgrades will all be a part of the package.
The Lexus IS-F Evolution will feature ‘sport design wide wheels’ wrapped in 245/35/19 tires on the front and 275/30/19 on the back. The car will be available in all carbon version for all you weight-saving enthusiasts.
Lexus is testing two test mules and plans on producing 500 units annually.

Picture makes me doubt about all text below it. Reasons:
1. desiding by wipers, car is right handed (japan, UK)
2. it car is righthanded in japan and Uk it must have turning signal on wings or mirrors..there are none.
3. in uk or japan it doesn't have DRL'(though I could be wrong on this)
It looks that picture is just a photoshop with invertet pic of american version of isf..

No way an IS-F Evo could sell for 180k, not even in Japan. Could you imagine then what the LFA would cost?
That being said and done, a 3500lb, 450hp IS-F with Carbon Ceramic brakes would make a smashing ride. Some nice fender flares and BBS LMs too? :P

i think i see an intercooler in those pics too =P ... but in the article it says they're going to use the orginal IS-F engine. that doesn't make sense..

are you talking about the M3 CSL? at least that one got a bump in power AND weight savings but were produced in very low numbers..

15k of that upgrade money is spent on the BBK people
If you buy your own Racing seats, have custom C/F fenders built and buy some C/F Rims, I'm sure you could save 70% of their cost and loose about the same weight.
Since you really don't need carbon brakes.

While it's true the carbon brakes won't outperform the stockers under street conditions, they will dramatically reduce unsprung AND rotational weight. I'd be pretty keen on both of those even if the braking were "only" equal to stock.
