No one knows and all Lobux can tell you is what he "thinks" as this is a new product. IMO I think the tranny will be fine. Look at all the Supras out there running with double or more hp on their automatics.

I was told that TOYOTA/LEXUS officials worked to develop this kit and that the tranny is good for 800 HP.

Questions I have:

1.) What happens when water enters here (1)

1. They plan to fab for the street aluminum shields so that the turbo's and area under the car there are protected. In addition, water on the outside of the turbo housing should not make any difference.

2. That looks like the piping that goes to the wastegate.

fleadog99, just read up on how a turbo works and you can figure it out....it's rather simple if you know the properties of a turbo set-up. there's just a ton more piping because it's and exhaust mount turbo set-up (which i think its retarded...).

oh and water should not effect that at all....it's called an AIR filter, thus only air is suctioned out...everything else stays out; dirt, water, dust...

i'm going to drive up to them one time and get them to do a custom twin turbo on my 250

Actually water can get through and cause a thing called hydrolock. Basically everything going to hell because of water. Look it up. It has been an issue with some intakes being to low to the ground on certain vehicles. Maybe I'm being to pessimistic. Regardless, I want the kit. Good luck bro

I can testify that low intakes, especially in the Houston area, can cause damage to engines. I had a Ford Taurus that had the air intake in the wheel well. I went into some rather high water and was turning around. When I bakced up the water was pushed up in the wheel well and went into the intake, hydrolocking the engine and bending a rod. Ruined that engine. If I had the twin turbos installed I sure would not drive the car any day it rained.

Ah, you meant the air filter itself? I thought you were talking about the housing rather than the filter. Yes, hydrolocking can happen and I'd be interested to hear their explanation/response to that one. All will have a chance to ask that question at TX2K9.

THEN they do ALL the work FOR you, all the exhaust piping and turbo's, Everything. Modify the Fuel system AND the ignition. Flash your ecu, then dyno it and tune it untill they are happy with the numbers.... THEN ship the car back to you all in less the 2 weeks time?

are you serious its not worth it? for a car that has very little to no aftermarket support, they have done all the R&D and offer everything in a tight little package that is pretty much handed to you so the only finger you have to lift is to dial the number...

Sure it is... the filter problem is easily fixed if you are creative...
Option one, Go buy the filers HKS and a few others offer that dont let water go threw them
Option 2, Re route the filters to inside the trunk space?
Option 3, dont drive in the rain
