Awesome DIY Thread!!!
Cayman,
I followed your instructions, and it couldn't have been an easier job...WAAAAY easier than I would have thought...notice the printout of your DIY pics. I put Project Mu front pads on. I snapped a few pics, including all my tools for the job...There is one thing that is essential for a Saturday brake job that was missing from your original photo...hahaha. Now I just have to wait until really late tonight to do the break-in on 95, when there will be very little traffic.

I ended up having to go to a backroads straightaway to do the break-in. Who knew so many people like to drive on the freeways around here at 6:30 am on Sunday morning...other drivers were freaking out when they saw me braking from 60-10 then flooring it back up to 60 and repeating again and again...I even had my hazards on, but too many people kept coming up on me.
The brakes feel phenomenal...less initial bite, but all of the stopping power if you put your foot into it. I am happy because the Project Mu's seem to have all the capability of the stock pads but without the dust or the harsh initial bite.

Thank you guys! This was by far an EASY brake job! Took more time to wash my wheels once off vs actually changing out the pads! Thanks again for taking the time to post the helpful pics! I swapped to Hawk pads! Hope they are low dust and great wear!

Rear rotors and pads?
Hello folks,
Has anyone done a DIY on the rear rotors and pads? If so,
are there some recommended aftermarket parts? The OEMs are pretty expensive. Also, is the install like the front or do you have to worry about the parking brake?
Thanks

I have noticed when in Ca(by the beach areas) my brakes squeek at low speeds coming to a stop. When out in the desert (Palms Springs, Phx ,AZ no squeeks at all! Maybe the humidity in the air has something to do with brake squeal?

I didn't want to start a new thread to ask a couple of stupid Newbie home mechanic questions... but I've reread the DIY brake pad thread and can't find the answers.... I'm putting on some Carbotech XP10's in the Front and 8's in the read in the next week or two when I paint my calipers RED with white Brembo decals and am getting nervous about screwing this up even though many on here have said how "easy" this job is.... (brake pads)... ANYWAY.... a few stupid questions...
1.) Does the brembo brake grease go on the back (non-contact side of the brake pads)? I just don't understand how this stops the squeak of brakes if it's not on the front (contact side that touches the rotors).... I'm SO confused!
2.) I cant find the reccomended torque settings for the bridge bolt... am I missing it somewhere?
3.) Would it be better for me to paint the calipers while the pads are OUT of the caliper or while in...
also left on the rotor or taken off?
Thanks in advance as always!
