so i was the first person to get the ISF in CA and maybe the whole US. I got it like two weeks before the official release because my dealership hooked me up. but anyways turns out since it was before the release my insurance had no idea what the hell ISF was, so they put my car down as an IS250. Long story short, due to an error on their part, ive been paying less insurance than my wife (is350).

As long as ISF model appears on the Policy, FMV of an ISF will be assessed. Nevertheless, they will be sending out a notice once they updated the database. After all, ins. co. ain't in business of losing $.

My insurer classifies the IS F as a "specialty high performance vehicle"...having said that my rates are very reasonable (45 yrs old, no claims, no violations). They also told me that my credit score had as much to do with the rates as the driving record/claims history.

Not so sweet when you total the car. No way you would win that battle in court, especially since you just publicly acknowledged that you know you aren't paying the proper amount. Oh well, hopefully you won't wreck the car.

Insurance coverage in Canada is different from the US. And because of the different insurance laws in each state here in the US, rates will vary for everyone since rates here in the US are based off of many variables like your age, driving record, county you live in and the type of vehicle you have. Here in the US, the IS F costs more to insure than a regular ISx50.

i'm in insurance myself too. your insurance company's underwriting dept may let your policy error slide by until it comes time to renew. keep an eye out! (btw, my rates have gone down on my is-f since last yr.. go figure.. it's a safe car!)
