Did some digging around and came across this EPA document which has some answers. www.epa.gov/otaq/regs/fuels/r01051.pdf
" Proposing Rule to Address Orderly Seasonal Transition
EPA is considering a rule to establish an April 15 date for receipt of federal summer RFG at terminals. This option would require terminals to accept only summer grade gasoline beginning April 15. We will also take comment on eliminating the current May 1 compliance date for summer grade gasoline. Requiring all terminals to receive summer grade gasoline by April 15 should ease competitive pressure on terminals (and refiners supplying these terminals)"
The May 1 compliance date basically applies to all parties upstream of the retail facilities,
including terminal, pipelines, tank truck carriers, though the focus of the transition problem
involve terminals. For ease of discussion the May 1 date will be referred to here as either a
compliance date or a terminal compliance date.
So I'm still unsure as to when the Summer mix ends and the Winter mix starts.

Your dyno graphs look more like they should now cayman, thanks for going back and getting them redone. Once you get the exhaust, you'll be even more pleased with the results

Full discussion is here. This extract should help understand the actual differences.
I have heard that winter gas has about 1 or 2 percent less energy per gallon. Is this true, and if so, is it due to the increased amount of relatively low energy density butane in the winter gas?
Yes and yes. I don't know if the number is 2%, but the higher the butane in the gas, the lower the energy content. But the primary reason for the added expense in summer is that butane is considerably less expensive (most of the time) than gasoline. So, the more butane you can put in there, the lower the cost to produce the gasoline.

The results are very good and now it's time to put the JOEZ intake back. I should then see the top end continue making power from 6000rpm to red line as shown on intake run file 009.
