Hi, have any of you guys notice any oil consumption between oil changes?
The reason I ask, my Isf is barely 1500-1600 miles and I check the engine oil level and it is between the 2 dots marks on the stick.By the way I haven't go to the dealer for the first time. When is supposed to be the first change?

normal for first few thousand miles until everything gets sealed up. I'm going on 15k of spirited driving and I have never needed to add oil other than scheduled maint.

I actually had my Low Oil message cup on on my display shortly toward the end of my 1st and 2nd oil change. My oil levels seem to be much better now. I checked and it's on mark. I have no idea when the car was new that the oil level consumption was much higher.

Did you follow the Lexus recommended break-in procedure?

I have almost 23,000 miles on my ISF at this time and have not had to add any oil between oil changes. I just changed oil, but between the last two changes I ran in excess of 10,000 miles between changes. I use Mobil 1 synthetic. I believe that changing 10 quarts of synthetic oil every 5,000 miles is overkill. JMHO.

Since I found this thread I won't be opening another one, it's somehow related.
On Saturday morning I went to the local Lexus dealer for the 15K miles service, fortunately I asked about the price, $400 + taxes!!! OMG, I asked what was included and they said oil change (regular oil), oil filter, wiper blades, A/C air filter, tire rotation, and car wash. I had the car washed the day before, you can't rotate the tires on the F, the A/C air filter was replaced 3 months ago together with the wiper blades, so I was going to pay $400+ for a regular oil change. I decided to buy the oil filter itself and drive to any other place and do the oil change there, so I paid $10 for the filter and headed over Wal-Mart. Since I had the OEM filter already they agreed to work on my car, so I asked for the full synthetic Mobil 1 service. It took 10 full quarts to fill up this engine! All the mechanics were impressed, the bill was $80 including taxes. At the end of the day I spent $90 instead of $428 at the dealer, and using better oil.
Well, this story is not about how much money I saved, but how impressed I am with the synthetic oil! Every time I drove my car out of the dealer after a service the car felt good, like every day, but now I feel my car great! It runs smoother than the first day I got it, this is a simply mod that I highly recommend.
Oh, back on topic, I had no oil consumption whatsoever.

I'm getting really annoyed at this 5k BS. It's very retarded. It's a practice that has been going on for too long here and needs to stop. Some of the manufacturers are starting to increase the service interval in line with the rest of the world. The worst offender is Subaru. 2.5GT we looked at, then was told an oil change every 3k. WTF. Checked on their US website, it says 3,750 and there's no option of 5k or 7.5k. There are cars in the UK with 1.4l engines with 12.5k intervals. BMW is 15k in the US. Why? Because it is included in the sale and they have to pay for it. Rant over.
No oil issue with the IS-F.
