Wow, 28 hp would be quite a 'feat'.![Uhh...](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/1387914497.gif)
Typically, this type of intake would net you 5-6 hp and I would not expect much more.![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Having said that, if someone dynos with even a 20 hp increase, I'll eat my words (then call K&N)![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

There appears to be some significant gains on the ISF and I want to know if anyone has had the chance to try one or are they too new?
K&N R&D must be pretty extensive to produce the extra power they are claiming?
Thanks

I just ordered through the Circuit Motorsports guys, so let's see if the K&N performs. Im planning on a dyno run with my other bolt on's in the next few weeks.

Threads merged. No point in having two threads about the same intake on the same group buy. As you were...

i refuse to get one based on the price alone. there is no reason that just bc an is-f cost more then an is-350 the intake should be double the price. you can say all you want about oh it cost more bc our cars are worth more and that us utter bs you are only lying to yourself.

splat, while i certainly agree with you to a limited extent... you have to factor in the numbers of available vehicles .... there are a heck of a lot more IS350/250's out there than F's... like thousands more... so therefore, they won't sell as many of the "F" models... meaning cost per unit goes up to recoup manufacture/design costs.
i'm still not buying one - i never liked anything from K&N.

true but at the same time its a few inches longer then the joe-z pipe with a heat shield and a cone filter. the same heat shield is on the 250/350. So thats really out the window for their price argument.

I still don't understand how this plays in with the OEM "dual stage instake." Is the K&N eliminating "stage 1" and just having "stage 2" open at all RPM's?
It seems so typical K&N but at the same time it is confusing with all the tech crap from the factory.
Anyone have any input on that?

^^^^I have attached a drawing of the stock ISF intake. All replacement intakes, except the JoeZ, eliminate the stock air box, which eliminates the vacuum controlled secondary intake. All aftermarket intakes, except the JoeZ also make the primary air intake non-functional. The K&N draws air from the same area as the secondary air inlet in the stock ISF. However, the top is not sealed with plastic as the stock system is.
