Red face First speeding ticket in the F :D

Dammit... $368 ticket... time for a V1...

What's funny is that my buddy warned me to get a detector when I got the car and I didn't listen...

What, no details? At least post the number of miles (kilometers?) over the limit. For a $368 ticket, I'm guessing 20+.

Most smokies around here are using Laser, and all the V-1 will do is to let you know you need to pull over and get the award. I have looked into Jammers but I think the jury is still out as to their effectiveness. I just practice the rule: speed limit + 5-10 over max, and they generally leave you alone. They are looking for the guys that are 15-20+ over and they know one will be along soon enough.

I have a V1, and I think most of the high end detectors are about the same. You need to find out what law enforcement uses in your area. It is generally simple either the police will tell you if you ask, or look at the gun, and see if it has a sight or scope to view through. If that is the case they are using Laser and the detectors will not pick up scatter from other vehicles. The only time you get a signal is when he has you.

I've been using Blinder Laser Jammers.... and it paid off well when going to FL last weekend.. I also have a V1 Hardwired... Both saved me about 4 times driving to Jacksonville from Atlanta and back.

My gf and I both have the 9500XI and love them. Great detector and love the speed camera and red-light camera alerts.

used to have a V1, sold it for passport 9500i. the 9500i is more quiet and less false alarm. Perfect for me, because i hardly ever speed excessively.

40 km/h over While passing a truck on a curve on the highway... They were behind the curve obviously...

I think the Po here uses both radar and laser from as far as I heard. The one that got me was on a tripod, that's all I could say about it.

(now I feel like the guy on the left in my avatar...)

If you're going to drive that slow, please stay in the left lanes.

Concider yourself lucky. I think here in Cali if you go over by 21 MPH they can towe your car and cuff you for reckless driving on the spot. 21 is the magic number.
