Default 8.1 Nav/gps update for IS-F need help.

I just bought the 8.1 nav update and wasn't sure how to install it. I've searched for a DIY but no luck....anyone updated their nav? just curious to see if it even works? because our cars aren't listed, but i'm presuming its the same as the ISx50. All the info i gather is that, you have to take the clock out and remove the old disc, but I'm hoping someone would have pictures on how to remove them.

i know its in the owners manual of the car. it states to remove plastic cover for the digital clock/surround for hazard lights. there is a small hole on either side of the piece. just remove the piece and behind that should sit the dvd slot. i know someone that has experience might be able to give you more specific details.

not to be mean or anything, i would assume you got it from either your dealer or sewell, just take it to the dealer, im pretty sure they wouldn't charge for an install like that!

can you ellaborate what page it is on, because I can't find any info on it at all on both Nav./owner's manual....or are you just assuming that its is on there? Maybe i'm just looking on the wrong section? I did go through the books and nothing....so thats why i'm posting this thread up.

Search is your friend.

BTW, don't use the Hazard switch as pull point to take out the clock assembly. The manual instructs to use a screw driver to pull out the clock by pulling the hazard switch. This did not work and scratched the hell out of the hazard switch (i had to buy a new switch 50cents from Trademotion and replaced it).
The best way to pull out the clock unit is by a small (less than 1" diameter) suction cups. It worked like a magic. After two pins in the holes are fully inserted, stick a suction cup on the corner or over the "Passenger" text on the clock assembly and pull it. On side should come out and do the same for other side.
Lexus should really include those suction cups as part of the tool. They really make you mess up the hazard switch by pulling it and that did not do jack squad to make it work .

Anyone know of another way to eject the nav dvd besides hitting the eject button? For some reason I am trying to put a new dvd in, but after pulling the fuse, and replacing the fuse, I now have NO access to my nav options, can't even hit the eject button for my nav dvd!

did u get the clock piece off the dashboard before u press the eject nav dvd? the nav dvd doesn't come out of the regular disc tray just so u know. since u dont have no access to the nav options i suggest takin it back to the dealer.

The tools to remove the clock bezel are in the Lexus tool pouch in the trunk....
